SAJJ Mediterranean: Fast and Healthy Family Dining

Posted by on Mar 1, 2018 in Dining, Family | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of the venue Today I tried out SAJJ Mediterranean, a popular Bay Area restaurant that just opened up their first SoCal location in Rancho Santa Margarita, and I couldn’t wait to share all about it. Their cuisine begins with locally sourced produce, antibiotic/hormone free meats, and they offer many vegan & gluten free options to create fresh, healthy meals. The menu is fully customizable. You go down the assembly line and choose the items you’d like, and can enjoy it in the form of a wrap, bowl, salad bowl, or with pita bread. They also offer traditional Middle Eastern beverages such as Tamarind and Mint Lemonade (which I ordered and was so yummy!). My husband ordered the Steak Shawarma Rice Bowl, and I had the Chicken Bowl, both were super good! Thankfully for my...

Celebrating the Holidays at Rancho Las Lomas

Posted by on Dec 18, 2017 in Christmas, Holiday | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue This past weekend, my family and I attended the event “Christmas with the Critters” at Rancho Las Lomas. The grounds of Rancho Las Lomas are just gorgeous. My husband and I came here many years ago for a wedding, but this was our first time checking out the zoo with the kids. We saw all kinds of exotic animals such as zebras, peafowls, reptiles, African Servals, Macaws, and our favorite, a White Bengal Tiger named Lilly. We were lucky to have walked by during feeding time and got to observe the Zookeeper feed Lilly a snack and learn some interesting facts about her too. All the cages at the zoo were decorated for Christmas and Lilly was a typical playful “kitty” batting and chewing at the colorful streamers that adorned her...

Get into the Holiday Spirit at Roger’s Gardens

Posted by on Dec 11, 2017 in Christmas, Events, Holiday | 0 comments

Roger’s Gardens in Corona Del Mar never disappoints, especially around the holidays. This year, Rogers Gardens has transformed into “Joyeux Noel,” a glittery and fantastic shop full of pure holiday magic! Inside, Christmas trees stretch way up high, completely drenched in sparkling ornaments and twinkling lights. Each tree has its own unique theme and accessories to go along with it. There’s always a bit of whimsy in the displays at Roger’s too; my girls got a kick out of the table & chairs mounted on the ceiling! Outside, a toy train zips through a sea of tiny trees. Plush, velvety poinsettias add pops of red throughout the gardens. Now through December 23rd (11am to 6pm in the Amphitheater), you can even take pics with Santa! As I mentioned in my post around Halloween, there are lots of expensive...

Halloween Magic and Mayhem at Roger’s Gardens

Posted by on Oct 3, 2017 in Events, Halloween, Holiday | 0 comments

Have you ever been to Roger’s Gardens in Corona Del Mar? Well, if you haven’t you need to go! It’s more than just a garden store; it has the cutest home decor and gift items as well and is the perfect place to spend an afternoon walking around with your children. My two favorite times to go are at Halloween and Christmas. They go all out and will you get you right into the holiday spirit! They even have a relatively new restaurant on site called Farmhouse, that I’m dying to try! I went to Roger’s Gardens with my family a couple of weeks ago to check out this year’s Halloween theme, “MAGIC & MAYHEM.” It was full of magic and mayhem during Halloween time. Roger’s Gardens doesn’t just line up shelves with merchandise; they artfully beautifully arrange...

Family Fun at Farmer Boys

Posted by on Sep 18, 2017 in Dining | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of the venue My daughters and I dined at Farmer Boys newest location in Laguna Hills this evening. We weren’t familiar with the restaurant chain, and I learned that they began 35 years ago and now have 90 locations. Their philosophy is “farm fresh food” that is made to order, using as much locally sourced produce and ingredients as possible. My girls were happy to hear that they served breakfast all day and choose to order breakfast for dinner. My kids are practically pancake connoisseurs and said that they were quite fluffy and delicious. They concluded their meal with thick creamy milkshakes and were VERY pleased! During dinner, I enjoyed a BLTA, it was delicious bread, and the produce was just as fresh and flavorful as they claim. The restaurant has an extensive menu...
