Get a Sugar Rush at Candytopia in Santa Monica

Posted by on Jul 9, 2018 in Cool Places, Featured | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Let’s face it…we’re all a little obsessed with social media and getting the perfect photo. When it comes to Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook photos everyone wants them to be perfect. And what better place to take excellent pictures than a place solely meant for just that! Located in Santa Monica, Candytopia is one of the best picture museums I have ever visited. One thing that made this museum so much fun is that its the whole theme was candy. It was literally my two favorite things in the world, taking pictures, and candy. When my mom told me we were going to be doing this during our weekend trip to Santa Monica I immediately picked out my favorite outfits and got ready for the exciting photo opportunities there would be during...

What A Teen Learned From a Road Trip with No Electronics

Posted by on Jul 6, 2018 in Autos, Family, Kia, Travel | 1 comment

Car provided by Kia Every summer I go on a road trip with just my mom, me and occasionally my little brother. Going on a trip with my older brother is practically unheard of because he ‘IS’ a typical teenager and all he likes to do is spend time in his room. My mom told me that we would be making a road trip (just the three of us) with no plans. We were just going to drive in her Kia Sorento with no set hotel reservations or destination, and only one thing in mind – to take our time exploring and connecting with one another. Now, my older brother is a huge planner, so I had no idea how that was going to work, but we made it happen. I learned some really valuable things while on this...

Ant-Man and The Wasp Teen Review

Posted by on Jul 6, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I attended a screening as a guest of Disney When the first Ant-Man movie came out, my brothers and I were so excited for a new Marvel character that we already knew we were going to love it. I watched it for the first time and immediately fell in love with the ant-sized superhero. When I started seeing the previews for Ant-Man and The Wasp I was so excited to see where the old movie left off. There are three reasons why I enjoyed this sequel so much. Number 1: The movie is so close to reality that it was so easy to understand and fun to watch. Most other superhero movies take place in a completely different setting than the modern world, so it’s effortless to connect with the things that are happening in the film. A majority...

An Open Letter to the Woman for Publicly Body Shaming my Mom

Posted by on Jun 25, 2018 in Uncategorized | 12 comments

Did you know that 94% of women have been body-shamed in their lifetime? Never in a thousand years would I think this would affect my mother or me. While in Palm Springs this past week, I noticed my mom was in pain. I carefully approached her. She looked up at me with a solid tear rolling down her cheek, her shaking hand, she passed her phone to me. There I saw the unthinkable. Something every teenager dreads of seeing about themselves, but this was about my mom, a grown woman shaming my mom for the self-confidence she has gained, and her beautiful new body. How did so many people know that this post was about my mom? Well, hours before it went LIVE, my mom had posted a picture of her in a tube top and a bikini...

Cinderella Ballet at the Irvine Barclay Theatre

Posted by on Apr 11, 2018 in Ballet, Entertainment | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue Cinderella is a classic fairy tale, and it also happens to be one of my favorite fairy tales ever. I have seen Cinderella in many different forms of production including musical theater, ballet, hip-hop, movies, etc. But, I think ballet is one of my favorite forms to watch this story told is through ballet. I have seen many ballets of Cinderella before, and they were all amazing, but seeing it performed by the Maple Conservatory of Dance at the Irvine Barclay Theatre & Cheng Hall has one has to be one of my favorites. I already knew I was going to like it when I started reading the program and saw a few familiar names. As soon as the first act started, I was immersed in an entirely different version of...

Pandas IMAX Movie Premiere

Posted by on Apr 9, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the studio I have grown to love driving to Los Angeles to see a new movie debut and its stunning premiere. It has become a tradition for my mom and me to pick out dresses together and spend the day getting dressed up, so when my mom told me that we were invited to the Pandas IMAX movie premiere, I was so excited. When she advised me that this premiere was for a new movie all about the lives of pandas in the wild, I was over the moon with excitement. I’m not sure if anyone knows this about me, but cute, cuddly pandas are one of my favorite animals. So when I found that we were going to the premiere of a Pandas IMAX movie I was beyond happy. My mom and...

Musical Masterpiece: The Book of Mormon

Posted by on Mar 30, 2018 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue One of my favorite things to do in Orange County is to see a show at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts has made musicals one of my new favorite obsessions. When I started out the season this year with Something Rotten, I didn’t think any show could beat that. Well, I was very wrong. The Book of Mormon was one of the funniest theatre productions I have ever seen in my entire life. Not only was I laughing the entire time, but I also found myself getting emotional during the sad parts. There was a perfect balance of emotion, and I think I laughed more than one hundred times during the performance. The characters made everything come together so perfectly and this for sure...

Disney Dream Cruise Line Presents Beauty and the Beast The Musical

Posted by on Mar 5, 2018 in Disney Cruise Line, Entertainment, Theatre, Travel | 0 comments

We attended during the Disney Social Media Moms Conference I am a huge theatre lover. Ever since I started school at the Orange County School of the Arts, the theatre has become a giant part of my life, and I couldn’t imagine my life any other way. When I did some research about our upcoming trip on the Disney Dream Cruise Line, and I discovered that there was going to be a theatre on the ship, and I was so excited. Next, I looked into it more and learned that they would be doing a live musical production of Beauty and the Beast, and I couldn’t wait to see it. When we boarded the cruise, I was counting down the nights until Beauty and the Beast, which (lucky for me) was on the second night. Our dinner was at...

Black Panther Teen Review

Posted by on Feb 16, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 1 comment

We attended as a guest of Disney In my family when a new Marvel movie comes out we start counting down the days until we all can see it. When we heard about Black Panther, my brothers totally flipped and couldn’t wait to watch it. My mom and I actually had to keep it a secret that we were going to see the movie before them. So, when my brothers thought that my mom and I were going up to LA to have some fun, we knew that we were about to watch another great Marvel Movie and the Disney Studio Lot. When we first got to the Studio Lot, we went and found parking and then walked to the theater to see the film. Having watched all the trailers for the movie hours before at dinner, we were...

Paddington 2: A Story about Kindness and Friendship

Posted by on Jan 9, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended a screening as a guest of the studio From the first moment I watched Paddington, I fell in love with the tiny little bear cub. I absolutely love cute animals (who doesn’t?!?), and Paddington was that, plus he has a great story to tell. From the story to the characters there was nothing you couldn’t love about the cute, kind, and not to mention fluffy bear. When I saw the first commercial for Paddington 2, I was beyond excited to see the film. The first Paddington has my heart, and I didn’t think it could get much better, but it did. The heartwarming story of Paddington and all of the crazy adventures he goes on could keep me entertained for days on end. Paddington has now become my new role model because he always looks for the...

Posted by on Jan 1, 2018 in Christmas, Events, Holiday | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Winter is my favorite season, and part of that is because of the holidays and all the fun lights and decorations. I also love the cold weather and sipping on hot cocoa with my family. This year, my family and I attended Winter Fest OC at the OC Fair Grounds. I knew from the minute I heard of it that it was going to be a blast and I was right! The event featured so many fun activities that we stayed until eleven o clock at night! There is ice skating, carnival rides, snow tubing, food, and many more fun activities. My younger brothers favorite was the ice skating, while my older brother and I loved all of the thrilling carnival rides. Snow tubing was an enjoyable way to bring the...

Music Comes to Life in Motown the Musical

Posted by on Dec 21, 2017 in Entertainment, Kia, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue It has become one of our favorite family traditions to visit The Segerstrom Center for the Arts. From classical ballets to upbeat musicals, my family and I always love going to see performances at the Segerstrom Center. When I learned that Motown the Musical was going to be part this season’s Broadway series, I couldn’t wait for the night when I would get to see the musical. Before going to the show with my Dad, my Mom and older brother had already been to seen it and could not stop talking about how great it was, which got me even more excited. My dad has been listening to Motown Music since I was a young child, and I couldn’t wait to experience the story of how Motown Music came to be...

Laguna Playhouse Aladdin and his Winter Wish

Posted by on Dec 19, 2017 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Growing up with a rich theater life and now going to school that revolves around theater I have now become a little theater critic. Every play or musical I go to see, I love to think in my head “what could’ve been better” or “what was so good about it.” When I went to see Aladdin and His Winter Wish at the Laguna Playhouse the whole time I was just thinking “wow!” Aladdin has always been one of my favorite Disney Princess movies and putting that into a theatrical production where they mix up the whole story was a little bit scary for me, but the story they created and the characters they added had just the right touch to make this the best version of Aladdin. I have only ever...

The Star Movie Teen Film Review

Posted by on Nov 17, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of the studio Ever since I was a little kid, I have heard the story of the first Christmas and the birth of Jesus. From my beginner’s bible to my pocket bible I have not only read about, but my family has been telling me the story ever since I was a little girl. There has never been an animated film in the animal’s perspective based off of the first Christmas. The fact that it has never been done before just makes me want to see it even more, so I was super excited about this film. Throughout the entire movie, my brother and I were laughing about the funny ones that some of the animals made and the fact that the animals would try to talk to the humans, but they...

Wonder Movie Teen Film Review

Posted by on Nov 17, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of the studio The book Wonder by R.J Palacio has been my favorite book ever since I was old enough to read. I found out they were making a movie based on the book Wonder a couple of months ago and I started counting down the days. Wonder has such a unique and touching story, and I couldn’t wait to see how they put it into a film. When the film began to start, I was immediately struck by how realistic the whole thing was. It was like the words from the book had been put on a giant movie screen. Even though I had read the book before, it was like seeing the story in a whole new way. Being able actually to see what everyone and everything look like gives...

Three Reasons Teens Should Watch The Lion King

Posted by on Aug 29, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie ever created. I feel that once people see the Lion King, they will fall in love with just like I did. Now that I am a teenager, all of my friends want to watch the latest movie release, but I feel that we should also relive our love for childhood classics like the Lion King. Recently, I saw the Lion King for the first time as a teenager with my friends during a backyard movie night, and it was like seeing it for the first time. These are my three reasons why teenagers should watch the Lion King. The music. Almost every teenager loves music, and the Lion King has the best music ever. If you are like me and value music most when it comes to movies, then this...

Doc Brown’s Back to the Future House

Posted by on Aug 22, 2017 in Kia, Pasadena, Travel | 0 comments

Vehicle provided on behalf of Kia Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies EVER!!! I have watched the series more times than I can count. When I heard that the house of Doc Brown was in Pasadena and we were there, I knew I had to go. I asked my mom if we could go and she said, of course!!! When we pulled up in front of the house, I practically screamed with the excitement of seeing the house from my favorite movie. When we first arrived, I sat on the edge of our Kia Sorento looking at the house because I thought it was so cool. Once we found a parking spot, we got out of our Kia Sorento and went to the front porch. We choose just to walk around the outside, but if...

Best Back to School Natural Cosmetics: L’eclisse

Posted by on Aug 21, 2017 in Beauty, Family | 0 comments

Samples received As a teenager I love makeup! I had tried multiple brands of cosmetics, but never really found one that I loved, so right before I went back school I decided to try L’eclisse. L’eclisse is unlike any makeup brand I have ever tried before. It makes my skin feel light and not weighed down by tons of makeup. Here are five reasons why I absolutely love them! All of L’eclisse products stay on through the whole school day. If you are a teenager, you know how hard it is to find a brand of cosmetics that stays on through all of your classes. If you are an adult, L’elisse will remain on a whole workday. L’eclisse cosmetics don’t contain some of the harmful substances that can damage your skin like other brands. When I wear their makeup...

Posted by on Aug 8, 2017 in Events | 0 comments

Not only is it all you can eat food/drink (if you get a VIP ticket), but there is also a band, people dancing, and photo ops everywhere! Lobsterfest is not just an event for adults, but kids will have a blast too. Every year I have attended Lobsterfest I leave with some amazing lobster memories. My favorite thing to do at Lobsterfest is to take pictures with Lido the Lobster and some real lobsters. Teens would love all of the different photo opportunities Lobsterfest has to offer, and you’ll have your Instagram followers craving some fresh Maine lobster. Another...

What to Expect at your First Invisalign Teen Appointment

Posted by on Jul 31, 2017 in Beauty, Invisalign | 0 comments

Sponsored by Invisalign I recently had my first Invisalign Teen appointment with Dr. Passamano in Irvine. When I went to the orthodontics office, I had no idea what to expect, and I was super excited to start the first step of getting my Invisalign aligners. I went inside of Dr. Passamano’s office, checked myself in with the front office staff, and then went to sit down in the waiting room. When they called my name, I confidently walked into the office where I would have my first appointment. Meeting with the Orthodontist Shortly after arriving, they called my name and brought my mom and me into a room to have my first official consultation. Dr. Passamano talked to me about what Invisalign is, and what they will do transform my smile. He first looked at my teeth to ensure...
