Walking with Dinosaurs Invade the Discovery Science Center

We attended as a guest of Discovery Cube Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stand next to a dinosaur and see how it looked, moved & acted in real life? Well it was mom’s choice on Mother’s Day & I couldn’t resist the temptation of an up-close encounter with a “real” baby T-Rex from the worldwide sensation Walking With Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular, coming to the Honda Center September 3-7. The Discovery Science Center hosted the sneak preview and added the extra special touches, as usual, to make it an afternoon we wouldn’t forget. Wines & Wishes Summer Wine Tour at The Kaleidoscope Center

At 30 weeks pregnant, a wine tasting is probably the last place you’d think I’d want to be but I can never pass up a night out with my man, especially when the babysitter is working pro-bono (thanks brother-in-law!) We attended Kaleidoscope’s Wines & Wishes – Summer Wine Tour last year and had a total blast so it was a no-brainier when I saw that they had a $25 Designated Driver ticket available for pregnant people like me. It’s especially worthwhile knowing that all of the proceeds raised benefit Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire. The Bears About Town in Orange County

Teaching our children about the history and culture of Orange County while instilling an appreciation for the arts doesn’t always present itself in a hands on experience for the entire family. Over the past year, a Public Participation Art project, The Bears About Town, has created an opportunity for the community to pay tribute to the magnificent brown bear that once roamed the county. Mission Viejo’s Oso (Bear) Creek Trail was one of the last places in the county where the brown bear was sighted. Local Youth Spread Autism Awareness on Global Youth Service Day

The Youth Leadership Council at Pretend City Children’s Museum joined millions of other young people around the world to celebrate Global Youth Service Day, April 11 to 13, 2014. Now in its 26th year, Global Youth Service Day recognizes the positive impact that young people have on their communities 365 days a year. As the largest service event in the world, Global Youth Service Day is celebrated in more than 135 countries and all 50 states. The group of 18 committed high school students were rewarded the Disney Friends for Change Youth Grant through YSA (Youth Service America) to create a short film on Autism Awareness.
