Wynton Marsalis was born in New Orleans and is the son of jazz musician Ellis Marsalis, Jr. (pianist), grandson of Ellis Marsalis, Sr. and brother of Branford (saxophonist), Delfeayo (trombonist), Mboya and Jason (drummer). sponsored We were treated to the incomparable Bernadette Peters who made her Segerstrom Center Cabaret Series debut last night in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. The singer, actress, comedian (yes, she told a joke) and children’s book author performed an evening of beloved Broadway songs, including selections by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim and many more. She is one of Broadway’s most critically acclaimed performers having won numerous accolades including three Tony Awards, a Golden Globe, two Grammy Awards, three Emmy nominations and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was joined on stage by the nine piece Al Yankee Orchestra which featured Cubby O’Brien on the drums. You “baby boomers” will remember Cubby as one of the original Disney Mouseketeers. Either because of that or Ms. Peter’s performance at the Disney Hall a...

The evening featured complimentary beauty services for guests including mini braids, hair blowouts, mini facials and more. During the event, guests mingled while dining on cuisine from Pitfire Pizza and cocktails from Little Black Dress Vodka. There was a large silent auction where guests bid on various items where the proceeds went to the AIDS/LifeCycle charity ride.
