Kinky Boots: A Must-See for Teenagers

Posted by on Feb 9, 2018 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue The Broadway musical, Kinky Boots had returned to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts of a limited engagement. I recently took my teenage son with me to see the smashing hit at the luxurious performing arts theatre, and we had the best night singing along to fantastic songs and immersed in the fascinating story. Before seeing the show, I had anticipated it to be a love story, but as the story unfolded, I quickly learned that it is so much more. Kinky Boots is the story of a son who wanted to branch away from working with his father (in their family business). He wanted to make a name for himself in London with his fiance, and once the son got settled in London, his father passes away, forcing him to...

Making Monster Jam a Tradition

Posted by on Feb 21, 2017 in Events | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Monster Jam is one of my most favorite shows to take my two sons to see. My oldest son is now 14, and we have been attending Monster Jam ever year since he was just 4 years old. We always make sure to get Pit Passes when purchasing our tickets so that we can get an up close look at the impressive monster trucks and meet their drivers before the show. Every year there is a show that is put on in the pits that are exclusive to the people who have purchased the Pit Pass. The pre-show never disappoints, and this year it was the motorcycle riders doing stunt jumps and street bikes that were burning rubber that was epic. Also, there were BMX bike riders doing awesome tricks for...

A ‘Beautiful’ Love for Music

Posted by on Oct 8, 2016 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the Segerstrom I had the incredible opportunity to take my youngest son, Tyler, to see “Beautiful” at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts earlier this week. The performance has to be one of my most favorite shows that I saw at the Segerstrom Center. I loved every part of the performance from start to finish. I have always enjoyed listening to Carol King’s Music. She had many popular songs when I was growing up. I remember her songs were always on the radio, and I would sing along to them as a child. This performance was a great reminder that life does not always go as you plan it, but what life provides is truly beautiful if you stop and appreciate the life you are living. I had no Idea Carol King wrote...

Boys Night Out at Monster Jam

Posted by on Feb 1, 2016 in Events | 0 comments

I love being a dad. Getting to spend time with my kids is my favorite hobby, and one of our favorite yearly events is going to Monster Jam. I’ve been taking my boys to Monster Jam for many years, and usually, go with the same group of dads and their kids every year. This year, we did something a little different. My younger son and his friends were talking about the upcoming Monster Jam show, and he asked me if I could take him with his two best friends to see the show this year, and, of course, I said, “yes.” At first, I was excited to take my son and his buddies to see the show, then reality set in, and I thought to myself, “what did I get myself into?” One dad and three boys for half...

Missing Loved Ones During the Holidays

Posted by on Dec 22, 2015 in Family, Health | 0 comments

Sponsored story in partnership with CTCA and MomSelect The holiday season is a time for family, and also a time when I can’t stop thinking about the family members that I have lost to cancer. My favorite memories of my Grandma was during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she would bring our entire family together to feast on her delicious food. In the spring of 1987, my Grandma was diagnosed with cancer in her lymph node. At the time, the specialist she went to see had assured her that in ten years from the diagnosis that she would be alive and well. In fact, he told her that they would have a drink together to celebrate a decade cancer free. In the 80’s there were limited options and paths when it came to cancer treatments and...

I attended the interview as a guest of Disney The epic new Marvel film “Ant-Man” is coming out in theaters this Friday. It is one of the best Marvel films yet, and we were thrilled to sit down with the cast of the show recently to talk about the movie. Now, if you’re not a huge Marvel fan, then you might be wondering – who is Ant-Man? Kevin Feige, the producer, told us, “Ant-Man in the comics is a founding member of the Avengers.” “Ant-Man and Wasp were the two that had been the longest that we haven’t done anything with, so it was always clear that we were going to assemble all the Avengers eventually.” Kevin Feige All of the actors in the film did a phenomenal job and played roles that many of us are not used...

I had no idea that alongside providing one of the best Whale watching experiences in Orange County and a comfortable ride to Catalina, that Dana Wharf also offers awesome fishing charters. Dana Wharf has ½ and ¾ day trips available that are open to the general public. If you are an avid fisherman or just wanting to try fishing, then these charters are a great way to experience sport fishing first hand. We arrived at Dana Wharf...

Father and Son Time at Monster Jam

Posted by on Jan 27, 2015 in Events, Featured | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue It is important for my wife and me to set time aside out of our hectic family schedule every month for each of us to have quality time alone with our children. It helps to strengthen our relationships with our children while giving them a chance to open up to us about things they might not when all together as a family. One of my favorite father-son bonding activities to do every year is taking my boys to see Monster Jam at Angel’s Stadium. We’ve been going to see the show every year since the boys were just toddlers, and it keeps getting better every year. The boys and I arrived early this year to attend the pre-show “pit party.” It was one of our first times attending the pit party,...

Left Coast Crossfit Changed My Life

Posted by on Oct 7, 2014 in Family, Featured, Fitness, Health | 2 comments

I have been provided a complimentary membership, but everything in this story is honest & true. Left Coast Crossfit has changed my life! I have been a member of our local gym with many fancy machines and workout classes since 2009. In all those years, I can count on one hand how many times I went to that gym to work out. What I found being a member of a traditional gym was that I had no motivation and seemed lost with how to work out correctly, and how to use the weights safely and effectively. I had no sense of community, and the team element needed when training towards a strong goal. After I became a member of Left Coast Crossfit in Laguna Hills two months ago, I choose to leave our local gym. I have found a...

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney Marvel has done something they’ve never done before creating an epic space adventure, “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series was first introduced in 1969 with a team of 31st century heroes. By creating the film, the filmmakers were able to explore a whole new side of the Marvel Universe. When asked what it was like to bring these Marvel comic book characters to life, the director, James Gunn, said “It was liberating. It gave me a chance to take what I loved about Marvel movies and Marvel comics and create a whole new universe, which has been the most exciting thing in my professional career.” The film is not like any Marvel film I have seen before, and the characters all expose their vulnerabilities,...

Changing my life one heavy lift at a time with Crossfit

Posted by on Jul 28, 2014 in Family, Fitness, Health | 1 comment

Training as a guest of Left Coast Crossfit I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life. I’ve tried many different diets, joined fancy workout clubs, and I’ve never been successful with anything. I’ll do a crash diet, only to gain the weight back a couple of months later, plus a couple of extra pounds. After becoming a father, losing weight became even harder. I work long hours, and my time with the kids is limited. While I never want to leave them in fear of missing out on special memories with them, my health has never improved. It has become important that I get healthy as I get older. Not only so that I can live a long life, but also to be a good role model for my children, encouraging them to live healthy lifestyles as they grow-up....

Spending quality time alone with each of our children has strengthened our relationships and has helped to build stronger bonds with our children. Just as important as it is for me to spend quality alone time with my wife, it is also important that I do the same with my sons and daughter. Sponsored My daughter and I went to on a Father/Daughter date night to see our favorite Disney film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” I surprised my daughter, by taking her to a Disney Second Screen Live viewing of the film, where she would get to see the film like never before. We started off the evening with dinner at a fun pizza place in Downtown Disney before getting our tickets to see the film at the AMC Downtown Disney theater. After my daughter and I got our popcorn, and took our seats, I surprised her as I pulled my iPad out of my backpack, and then she said, “Why in the world would you bring an iPad to a movie theater dad?” What she was about to learn was that the iPad was going to create an interactive movie experience...

Reliving Memories at The Harlem Globetrotters Show

Posted by on Feb 28, 2013 in Events, Featured, Uncategorized | 0 comments

I had an opportunity to relive a positive childhood memory through the eyes of my three kids watching the Harlem Globetrotter Show at the Honda Center in Anaheim. As a young boy, my Grandparents would take my cousins, and I to see the Globetrotters when they came to Los Angeles. I fondly remember laughing at the jokes and being amazed at the trick and dunks made during the game. The Harlem Globetrotter show had become an even more fun and exciting than it was when I was young. We arrived at the Honda Center shortly before the show and purchased some treats to enjoy. Then we went to the seats and started to watch Globie (the mascot) warm up the crowd with his dancing and music show. After Globie, entertained the crowd, the Globetrotters came on the floor and...

When we walked into the convention area, the kids immediately spotted “Try It Cove.” Try it Cove, was an area with a large indoor pool, where we were able to try using some of the newest state of the art stand up paddle boards and kayaks available. We even saw Dora The Explorer on a SUP at Try it Cove. After the kids and I, enjoyed all the thrilling water sport items available at the cove area, we decided to learn from an expert at docking a boat in our family. There was an area...
