We are Going Back-to-School at Monster’s University #MonstersUEvent

Remember High School Prom, dancing under the disco ball to the freshest New Kids on the Block Song, thinking about all the exciting adventures to come in College? All those memories came rushing back, when I learned that I will be going back to College, only this time, not with my high school friends but twenty-five of my favorite blogger friends.

Why are we going back to school? Everyone knows that the best scarers in Monstropolis came from Monsters University, so we will be joining Mike and Sulley on their new adventure in upcoming Disney film Monster’s University that will be released into theaters on June 21st.

I could not think of a better group of Monster’s to go back to school with than my favorite Monster’s Inc friends. Will Boo and Roz be joining us? Only time will tell….so you will have to keep up with us here on the site, and on Twitter under the hashtag #MonstersUEvent when we go to San Francisco next month.

I was a new mom shortly after the first Monster’s Inc. was released in 2001. Back in the day Billy Crystal was a household name, and because of that, Monster’s Inc. was the first DVD that I purchased for my first born son Andrew. He immediately became a Monster’s Inc. fan and would wear his Sulley costume everywhere we went. We would have to wait until he would be asleep before taking off his Sulley costume for a quick wash.

How much do we love Monster’s Inc. in our house? My kids have been studying hard to one day become Monstropolis’ top scarers. Andrew was not only Sulley for his third Halloween, but we also attended the opening of the Monster’s Inc. ride at Disneyland, the Monster’s Inc. Ice Show in 2005 and still have a collection of stuffed animals. We are thrilled to be a part of their new adventure in their upcoming film, Monster’s University.

While in San Francisco, we will not only get to learn all about the upcoming film, but will see the new upcoming Disney short “The Blue Umbrella,” tour the Pixar Animation Studios and The Walt Disney Family Museum. Our classes are going to be full while we learn all about this upcoming film.

Disclosure: We are not compensated for this post. We are receiving an expenses paid trip for the media event. All of our thoughts and opinions are of our own. Photos are courtesy of Shelby Barone and Disney.
