Barrel House Tavern in Sausalito
We visited as a guest of Buick
While on a girls getaway to Sausalito, we had a magical afternoon tree bathing at Cascade Falls, before driving our Buick Envision to Casa Madrona. We relaxed for a couple of hours before having an unforgettable dinner at Barrel House Tavern.
We made the short walk from our hotel to the restaurant where we sipped on wine and craft cocktails while basking in the beautiful views of San Francisco. The restaurant has a large outdoor patio where we were served an array of delicious appetizers. We enjoyed flatbread, octopus, avocado toast, and more. Everyone in our group shared all their favorite experiences from the day while relaxing on the patio.
As the sun began to set, it was time for everyone to come together in the restaurant for dinner. The tables were beautifully set with fresh flowers, and the menu featured foods rich in nutrients, which was perfect to end our wellness getaway.
For the first course, we started with a fresh baby beet salad. The flavors of the salad blended beautifully together. It featured arugula, cherry tomatoes, radishes, red onions, Humboldt fog goat cheese, toasted pepitas, and a Meyer lemon vinaigrette.
For the main course, we had two choices, either chicken or salmon. With the restaurant being right on the water’s edge, it put me in the mood for seafood, and it was the perfect choice for the evening. The Ora King Salmon was paired to perfection with roasted corn, red bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and salsa verde. Not only was the dish delicious, but it was also beautifully presented.
While I savored the salmon, my friend enjoyed the wood oven-roasted chicken. The dish featured an entire chicken! It was paired with roasted cauliflower, red bell pepper, sauteed green beans, peas, leeks, mushrooms, green onions, and a Meyer lemon vinaigrette. My friend enjoyed every last bite, not leaving a crumb before.
The meal would not be complete without a freshly made dessert. The evening ended with a decadent butterscotch bread pudding. Every bite melted in my mouth, and I found myself dreaming of the dessert as I drifted off to sleep for the evening.
While visiting Sausalito, make reservations to have dinner at the Barrel House Tavern. It will be an evening to remember forever. The Barrel House Tavern is located at 660 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965.
