Best Holiday Family Movie: Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

I attended the premiere as a guest of Disney

My favorite thing to do with my family during the holiday season is to watch Christmas movies. We have a list of our favorite movies, and we watch them over and over again throughout November and December. Earlier this week, I attended the world premiere of Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, and it immediately became my favorite holiday movie yet.

In the film, Clara (Mackenzie Foy) is presented with a gift, and all she needs is a key to open it. She suddenly finds herself in a parallel universe where she goes on a journey throughout three realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. At the beginning of her journey, she meets a soldier named Phillip who helps her to find the key.

Clara quickly finds out that she is a princess and that her late mother was a queen in this universe that now has all the realms at war with one another. Nothing is as it seems in this parallel universe, and I kept being surprised as the story unfolded before my eyes.

My favorite part of the film is when Misty Copeland puts on an epic performance with her beautiful dancing, and you’ll want to make sure and stay until the very end to see her dance some more. The movie is a magical masterpiece, the imagery is absolutely beautiful, and the costumes will leave you breathless.

The movie isn’t anything that I had expected as is a refreshing new twist on the classic fairytale. It is rated PG and is a film that children and adults of all ages will enjoy watching every holiday for years to come.

I can’t wait to bring my family to see Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and I highly recommend bringing your family to see it as well starting today! Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is in theaters today and will be in theaters throughout the holiday season so your family can go back to watch it again and again.
