For most families and children, visiting Santa is one of the highlights of the holiday season. In our family, this is no exception. My daughters write and re-write their wish lists. Once perfected, they can’t wait to sit on Santa’s lap. With the countdown to Christmas just weeks away, here are a few places Santa will be flying by before the big night in Orange County

Fashion Island

Children and families can share their holiday wishes and take photos with Santa at Fashion Island’s Atrium Lawn through December 24. Known for having one of the most authentic Santa’s in Orange County and a stunning holiday backdrop, your family will feel the magic of the season. Hours vary. Santa’s House will periodically close for breaks. Please visit Guest Services in Atrium Court for more information.

Rogers Gardens

Your family will enter a magical winter wonderland at Rogers Gardens with 20 themed trees decked with ornaments, garlands, wreaths and treasures collected from around the world. Santa will await your child’s wish for this Christmas season in the original Disneyland bandstand gazebo. Capture the priceless moment with a professional photograph. Open every weekend until December 22, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All aboard the Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train! Destination: the North Pole, of course. Children can share their wish list with Santa and have their photo taken with him too. You may take pictures with your personal camera, or purchase a photo for $10.00. Christmas Train activities include cookie decorating, carnival games, a Santa moon bounce, story time with Mrs. Claus and more. Due to the high demand for this event, visit the Irvine Park Railroad for ticket and parking information.

The Shops at Mission Viejo

The Shops at Mission Viejo Santa is always a favorite for our family when it comes to visiting the big guy. The enchanting setting allows children and their families to experience the spirit of the season – even in a mall environment. Children can be photographed with Santa through December 24 in his winter wonderland, on the lower level near Nordstrom. Appointments available with a minimum preorder of $39.99 photo package. Hours vary.

South Coast Plaza

Perched in his sleigh chair, you’ll know in a minute it must be St. Nick. The mega mall of South Coast Plaza holds its traditional “Santa’s Village” each year with a carousel and lots of family-friendly stores. Now through December 24, families can visit Santa in two locations: Carousel Court and Macy’s Home Store Wing, Level 1.
 With the purchase of a photo package, you may use your own camera (three shot max) for free. You can also receive a complimentary Santa’s Express Train ride with any Santa photo purchase. Both photo locations are open all day during Shopping Center hours.
