Bridalveil Fall Trail in Yosemite National Park
After getting a good nights sleep at the Tenaya Lodge, we woke up early to drive into Yosemite National Park. We slowly made our way into the park on the snow covered roads, and made our first stop at the Bridalveil Fall Trail.
There was a wait to find a parking spot as families from all over the National Park were eager to see this natural wonder. Once we were able to get a parking spot, the kids used the onsite restrooms before embarking on our journey along the popular trail.
Since it has just snowed about two days before visiting the trail, it was very icy. There were people slipping, sliding and falling all along the trail, so we took it very (very) slow. The trail is short and only took us about 10-15 minutes to reach the falls, making it perfect for little kids who can’t walk very far.
Once we reached the bottom of the falls, it was very crowded. We were shoulder to shoulder with all the other visitors on the small platform at the base of the falls. Everyone patiently took turns taking pictures in front of the majestic falls before making their way back to the parking lot.
While walking along the trail back towards the parking lot, we could hear the ice cracking and breaking off the side of the falls. It sounded like an avalanche, and the kids loved it!! There was a creek that was flowing along the trail that my kids took the time to stop and look at the different textures of the frozen water vs. flowing water. It is something that they don’t get to see in Southern California.
When visiting Yosemite, don’t miss stopping at the Bridalveil Fall Trail. Plan to allow for 20-30 minutes to experience the wonder of this beautiful place. The Bridalveil Fall Trail is located near Tunnel View near the Arch Rock park entrance.
