Brunch at Lit Cafe OC
We dined at Lit Cafe as a guest
One of my favorite things to do is going out for brunch. With all of my favorite dishes being breakfast foods, I am always looking for a fresh new place to dine out.
Lit Cafe Chef Erica Tjangnaka
The one thing that had me eager to dine at Lit Cafe was knowing that the talented chef, Erica Tjangnaka is the pastry chef. Chef Erica is one of the most well-known pastry chefs in the world. She is known for some of her incredibly talented work at ST Patisserie Chocolat, the St. Regis Hotel, and more.
Lit Cafe David Fujimura
Plus, there is chef David Fujimura, who is a culinary genius. He has been a significant part of the success of many Orange County restaurants including Marche Moderne, Andrei’s Conscious Cuisine, and Charlie Palmer. Chef Erica and Chef David make the perfect dream team to provide guests with an elevated culinary experience in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
Lit Cafe Location
Lit Cafe is located in the heart of Anaheim and is easily accessible with close freeway access. I made the drive up to Lit Cafe recently with my daughter, and the minute that we walked into the restaurant, we felt at home. We went to the register to order, and the only problem we had was trying to decide what to order – we wanted to bite of everything!
Lit Loco
I immediately knew that we needed to try the Lit Loco, and it did not disappoint. The dish features Japanese medium-grain rice, Japanese-style hamburger steak, potato salad, pickled red onions, a sunny-side-up egg topped with a teriyaki jus. The dish was our favorite thing on the breakfast menu, and we did not leave a crumb behind.
Lit Brick Toast
With avocado toast being my daughters favorite, she ordered the Lit Brick Toast. The best part of the avocado toast was the bread. They make a parmesan-crusted bread that tastes like a cloud from heaven. It is then topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, green onions, parsley, citrus aioli, and of course…avocado.
Chilaquiles
Since my second home is in Mexico, I could not wait to try their chilaquiles. The dish was colorful, flavorful, and tasted just as good as it does in Mexico. The dish features crispy corn tortilla chips topped with salsa verde, cotija cheese, applewood smoked bacon, mixed cabbage-cilantro slaw, sour cream, and a sunny-side-up egg.
Mr. Rosas’ Breakfast Burrito
Finally, we sunk our tastebuds into Mr. Rosas’ Breakfast Burrito. The burrito boasted with flavor. It features scrambled eggs, caramelized onions, hash browns, cheese, chicken sausage, applewood smoked bacon, and salsa verde. We added avocado which made the dish complete.
Pastries
You can’t dine at Lit Cafe without trying one of their freshly made breakfast pastries. We savored the freshness of Chef Erica’s pastries before heading home. Lit Cafe is now one of my favorite places for brunch. I can’t wait to come back for lunch to try one of their sandwiches or burgers.
