Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie Party

We visited as a guest of Fox

In celebration of the recent release of “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” on digital download and its upcoming release on Blu-ray and DVD on September 12th we attended an epic party in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The event was held at one of the coolest venues in Downtown Los Angeles. The building was covered with beautiful street art and was once a toy manufacturing building. Inside, the entire building was transformed into the world of Captain Underpants.

When we first walked into the building, we were invited to take some fun photos in the photo booth. My kids made some boomerangs and took a lot of pictures with the characters from the film.

Then it was time for lunch. The lunch buffet featured spaghetti and meatball sliders, BLT toast, chicken n’ biscuits, pretzel dog bites, and cotton candy wrapped bacon! Along with tasty bites, there was popcorn, juice, and soda (in a bottle…so cool). Our kids enjoyed every bite of their lunch before going into the screening room for more fun.

In the screening room, there was endless fun awaiting our kids. They were invited to play games, do crafts and have balloon animals made. Along with the activities, Rune Brandt Bennicke, head of character animation at Dreamworks Animation, gave the kids an interactive drawing lesson. He took his time to teach the kids how to draw Captain Underpants, and also signed a couple of autographs.

Finally, it was time for the kids to watch “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.” The kids found a seat on one of the pillows and the parents sat in the chairs. During the screening, everyone fell in love with the hilarious film. Once the movie was over, my older son shouted, “best movie ever!”

It was a fun way to celebrate the family film. Your family can enjoy the movie today with a digital download or keep it in your family movie library starting on September 12th.
