Carlsbad Kidifornia Mini Mayor Beach Party

The search continues until November 12th for the future mini-mayor of Carlsbad. In celebration of the hunt for the perfect candidate, Visit Carlsbad hosted a fun family beach party at The Beach Terrace Inn.

Families from all over Southern California came to the Beach Terrace Inn for the festive beach party. During the event, there was an epic sand castle building contest where families created creative sand castles to represent their vision of a miniature city. Children created Star Wars themed sand castles, mini versions of Las Vegas and more.

Along with the sand castle building contest, there were delicious treats. Families enjoyed refreshing juices, cookies, and goldfish crackers.

Once the sand castle building was complete and the winner was announced, the kids were given some boogie boards, and then ran into the ocean to go swimming. The kids splashed and giggled throughout the entire afternoon in the crystalline ocean waters. For children who weren’t interested in playing in the waves, there were beach activities for them to keep busy.

The best part of the event is that children were able to film their application videos for the mini-mayor of Carlsbad and post them on social media. The kids put on hats, neckties and shared with the world what they love about Carlsbad and why they will be the best mini-mayor.

Did you miss the beach party? Don’t worry. There is still time for your children to apply to become the mini-mayor of Carlsbad. Simply film a video of your child sharing what they love most about Carlsbad and post it on social media with the hashtag #MiniMayorCarlsbad and they will be entered to win. The best part is that the future mini-mayor of Carlsbad will receive a complimentary family vacation to Carlsbad! How cool is that? Hurry, they are only taking applications until November 12th.
