Casual Conversation and High Spirits at Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer Festival

We visited as a guest of the venue

Brew Ha Ha did it again! A successful event with smiling faces, excellent venue, and even custom ordered weather that made for an enjoyable day. Just add friends, music, great beer and places to relax under the shade. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon, right?

If you haven’t had the chance to attend one of the Brew Ha Ha’s tasting events, you don’t know what you’re missing. First, a portion of proceeds benefit the Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and as you know, we love events that give back to a valuable cause and support our local youth. You’ll also discover that those serving up all that delicious cold beers are volunteers with the Big Brothers & Big Sisters. Always a fun fact.

With 100 breweries participating at Lake View Park in Orange, it’s good to get a head start with a beer list (provided by Brew Ha Ha in a printable form) the day before the event to mark all of your favorites. If you like beer, then you have found the right place to explore and discover new brewers and familiar ones too.

Favorites this round were: Bottle Logic’s Smoldering Celestial, a great Hoppy Amber; 2 Towns Cider House with a Pumpkin Sweet Potato in time for the fall season and a very memorable beer for us was a Brown Ale with Coffee from Asylum Brewing. Tasty, unique beers were to be had by many. We always run into our local go-to breweries too; where we are greeted with a warm hello, hugs and “here, taste our new craft beer.” So thank you also, Artifex, Bootlegger, Towne Park Brew, Docent, Riip and Left Coast; we enjoy seeing all of you and feeling like family.

We found the event to have a fun, relaxed vibe full of casual conversation and high spirits. Groups of friends make it a tradition to attend, we ran across several Father/Son duos and even those celebrating a birthday. As for us, we fulfilled the Mother/Daughter title with lots of laughter while finding time to pick up a quick round of mini golf and got our dance on to the live band, Captain’s Quarters; singing along to those Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and Michael McDonald classics.

Good news these events are held often, so make a note to join us for the next one and see for yourself what a great time is all about in the land of craft breweries.
