It’s All About Girl Power in The Incredibles 2

Posted by on Jun 13, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I attended the interview as a guest of Disney The Incredibles is one of my kids all-time favorite animated feature films. When my teenagers (who were toddlers when the original film was released) found out that they were making The Incredibles 2, they couldn’t wait until the day it would be released into theaters. I had the honor of taking them to an early screening of the film, and they loved it even more than the first film. The next day, I got to sit down with the cast and talk about the making of the film. All of the characters in The Incredibles 2 have such distinguished voices. Hearing the voices of my favorite characters come out of someone other than “The Incredibles” threw me off a bit. I have interviewed celebrities who have done voice over work...

Deric McCabe Shines in A Wrinkle in Time

Posted by on Jun 5, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney One of my favorite movies of the year has been “A Wrinkle in Time.” I loved the lighting, the acting, and the message behind the story. While in Los Angeles last month, I had an opportunity to sit down and talk with one of the stars of the film, Deric McCabe. If you aren’t familiar with McCabe, he is a hilarious young boy who plays the role of Charles Wallace Murry in the movie. The minute that I entered the room, McCabe offered to show us some of his talents and did a couple of cartwheels around the room. The young actor is vivacious, full of energy, and he made every minute of the interview so much fun. Once he took his seat and we got started talking about the...

Sponsored My daughter attends one of the most popular art school in Southern California and has a massive passion for the arts. She loves theatre, and especially music. I have taken her to the theatre many times in the past but had yet to take her to experience her first concert. Knowing that Poison was one of her favorite bands when I heard that they were coming to Irvine to perform at the FivePoint Amphitheatre, I couldn’t wait to get tickets to surprise her with a fun mother and daughter night out. The night of the concert, we got all dressed up and drove over to the concert venue for an unforgettable night full of fun and rockin’ music. One of the best things about seeing a concert at the FivePoint Amphitheatre is taking advantage of the Mercury Insurance...

Exclusive Inside Look into the Walt Disney Animation Research Library

Posted by on May 31, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of Disney One of the best-kept secrets of the Walt Disney Company is the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. While in Los Angeles earlier this month celebrating the upcoming release of Peter Pan on Movies Anywhere and Multi-Screen Edition: Blu-ray™ + Digital I got the honor of visiting the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. Before being invited to visit the Animation Research Library, I never even knew that it existed. As we entered the building, we had to turn off the geolocation on our phones so that the location will not be leaked out to the public. We were then advised to put all our bags in a conference room in the lobby, and we weren’t allowed to bring anything with us into the research library, even pens. The minute that we walked through...

Walking in Walt’s Footsteps: A Photo Tour of Walt Disney’s Office

Posted by on May 30, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of Disney While visiting the Walt Disney Studios lot earlier this month, I embarked on an unforgettable scavenger hunt around the studios, and then had the honor of touring Walt Disney’s office. It has been a long time dream of mine to go into his office, and I was immersed in the magic of Disney while walking in Walt’s footsteps. Everything in Walt Disney’s office has been placed and preserved precisely how it was when he was alive, and I felt like Walt was right there with us while walking around his office. Since his office isn’t open to the public, I took as many photos as possible to give all of you an inside look into what his office looked like when he was alive. Enjoy this magical photo tour, and experience the...

Posted by on May 30, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 2 comments

I visited as a guest of Disney I have visited the Walt Disney Studios many times in the past, and my recent trip was one of my all-time favorites. I was visiting to experience a private tour of Walt Disney’s office and embark on a magical adventure of doing a Peter Pan scavenger hunt around Walt Disney Studios. The Walt Disney Studios is one of the most creative environments I have ever visited and a place where nobody would question a group of five women running around with Peter Pan hats on. For the scavenger hunt, we were all divided into groups of five, and I got to be on team Peter Pan. We were then given a series of envelopes filled with creative clues. We got extra points if we found the hidden Peter Pan shadows around the...

Woody Harrelson: Solo: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on May 25, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney Woody Harrelson delivers an epic performance in Solo: A Star Wars Story as Tobias Beckett. While in Los Angeles earlier this month, I had the honor of meeting Harrelson and getting to talk about what it was like working on the film, and how he lives a healthy lifestyle. Harrelson got involved in the film by being in London while shooting a movie that he wrote and directed, “Lost in London.” He was going to head home, but Phil and Chris wanted to meet with him, so he made arrangements to talk. He was worried that his family would be tired of saying that he was ‘done’ after his last film, but he met with them anyway, and like with Hunger Games, he declined initially – but as we all...

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney One of my favorite characters in Solo: A Star Wars Story is the all-new droid L3-37 played by the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge. While in Los Angeles earlier this month, I had the honor of meeting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and got to talk to her about what it was like being a droid in the new hit film. Before meeting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, I had heard that she didn’t know very much about Star Wars before being cast for the film. When asking her about it, she said, “I did know about Star Wars, but I hadn’t seen any of the films. I think there’s like, five of us in the world.” She continued to share with us that she felt like it worked in her favor. “I was very loose...

Joonas Suotamo: The Face Behind the Fur

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney When you think of Chewbacca, what comes to mind? A warm cuddly creature from the world of Star Wars? But, there is a human behind all that fur and kindness, and in Solo: A Star Wars Story, it is Joonas Suotamo. Every little boy dreams of being Chewbacca, my boys especially, so when I told them I was going to meet the man, the myth, the legend, behind Chewbacca in Solo: A Star Wars Story….they almost fainted. The one thing that stood out to me about Joonas Suotamo is that he is not your traditional actor. When looking for someone to play the part of Chewbacca, they apparently needed someone tall, so the director seemed to our local pro basketball teams to find. “I got the role out of the...

Solo: A Star Wars Story: Paul Bettany

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney While in Los Angeles interviewing the cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story there was one actor that clearly stood out from all the rest, and that was Paul Bettany. One of my colleagues had fallen and was on crutches, as many of you know, we always take a group photo, and Paul Bettany was the only one of the actors who offered his seat (the only seat) to my friend. When he did that, he immediately became my favorite actor in the film. Not only is Paul Bettany a great guy in real life, but he also steals the show with his epic performance in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Star Wars was a big part of Paul Bettany life growing up, and he was beyond thrilled to be...

Ron Howard on Solo: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on May 21, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney One of the best things about the all-new Star Wars film Solo: A Star Wars Story is that the highly acclaimed Ron Howard directs it. I had the honor of getting to spend some time with Ron Howard talking about the making of the film while in Los Angeles last week. For being such a talented director, the one thing that makes Ron Howard so unique is how down to earth and relatable he is. Like with any Star Wars film, there was a lot of responsibility on everyone who worked on the film, especially Ron Howard. For Ron Howard, it was the pressure of making sure Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) would deliver the performance that would “wow” Star Wars fans. Howard knew that there was already some judgment surrounding...

When young villager, Franz, becomes infatuated with the doll, he casts aside Swanhilda, his true heart’s desire. Swanhilda shows Franz his folly by dressing as the doll and pretending to come to life. Based upon two stories by E. T. A. Hoffmann, Coppélia was originally choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon, with music by Léo Delibes. Love, laughter and exquisite...

We attended a screening/interview as a guest of Disney I am an Iranian-American. I was born in Iran and immigrated to America right around the Iran hostage crisis.  It was hard having a name like mine, look the way I did, feeling the way I did.  I was different and different was bad.  With few friends, I turned to books and movies to past the time.  From that my love of fantasy rose as did my hope that one day if I ever had children they would not go through what I did, that somehow a person who is different is as accepted as one who is considered the norm.  As an Iranian-American woman, I have sat back quietly watching as history-making events have unfolded before me.  From the Woman’s March to the Me Too movement, history is being made...

Posted by on Nov 17, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of the studio The book Wonder by R.J Palacio has been my favorite book ever since I was old enough to read. I found out they were making a movie based on the book Wonder a couple of months ago and I started counting down the days. Wonder has such a unique and touching story, and I couldn’t wait to see how they put it into a film. When the film began to start, I was immediately struck by how realistic the whole thing was. It was like the words from the book had been put on a giant movie screen. Even though I had read the book before, it was like seeing the story in a whole new way. Being able actually to see what everyone and everything look like gives...

We attended as a guest of the venue It was a magical day in Los Angeles this past Sunday where the beautiful film The Star Movie debuted to the world. All of the top celebrities in Hollywood came out to celebrate the film that tells the Christmas story in a whole new way – through the eyes of the animals. When we arrived at the premiere, there were multiple activities for the children to do. There was a ring toss, hot dog on a stick, and other fun treats. My children had a blast enjoying all the different activities until it came time for the stars of the film to arrive. The ‘white’ carpet was buzzing with celebrities from the film and others who came out to support the film. Our children took pictures with some of their favorite...

We attended as a guest of Kia Anyone who watches YouTube and loves music knows who KHS (Kurt Hugo Schneider), Sam Tsui and Alyson Stoner are. They are three of the most talented young musicians who create beautiful melody together and recently starred in their first Kia Rio commercial combining music with autos. This past weekend, the rising stars hosted a free concert for their fans in Los Angles, and we were two of the lucky people to get tickets to their sold out private concert. When we arrived at the concert in our Kia Sorento, the valet took our keys, and we entered the hipster venue for a night that we would never forget. The night started on the outdoor patio where guests had t-shirts custom screen printed, played carnival games and enjoyed tasty bites from two food...

We visited as a guest of the venue One of my parent’s favorite things to do when I was a child was to have a date night at the Hollywood Bowl. I always thought that my husband and I would follow in their footsteps, but life gets busy when raising three children, and it finally worked out with our schedule to make our first visit to the Hollywood Bowl this past weekend. While I thought my first visit to the Hollywood Bowl would be a date night, we ended up bringing the kids for an unforgettable night under the stars for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We got box tickets (which I highly recommend when coming with young children). We left early and planned to arrive right when the gates opened, which again, I recommend doing when bringing your...

Action Meets Comedy in Thor: Ragnarok

We attended a screening as a guest of Disney My two boys eat, sleep and dream superheroes. While raising my boys, they have passed their love of action and adventure onto me, who now also enjoys a great superhero movie. Whenever a new Marvel film comes out, my boys are counting down the days until they will have a chance to see the films, and this was the case with Thor: Ragnarok. When I got an invitation to take my teenage son to the Thor: Ragnarok premiere, I expected the film to be full of action, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the film had the most amount of comedy than any other Marvel film. After all, it is the comedy that makes their films so enjoyable to watch. While watching Thor: Ragnarok my son...

The cast in the film Thor: Ragnarok has perfect chemistry as they worked hard to create one of the best Marvel films ever made. When I entered the room at the Montage in Beverly Hills, I took my seat in the front row and anxiously anticipated the arrival of the cast. As the moderator began to announce the names of the cast and they entered the room, all of the press started to clap and cheer.  Sponsored One of our favorite things to do together as a family is to have movie nights. We will come together as a family, enjoy tasty food and stream our favorite movies while creating memories that will last a lifetime together. When I learned about the all-new app Movies Anywhere, I thought it was a great idea to plan a ‘Halloween-themed’ movie night and downloaded Hotel Transylvania on the app. My favorite part of our family movie nights is creating food that is themed after the movie. Since I knew that we were going to be watching Hotel Transylvania, I thought of some fun vampire and bat-themed foods to serve. For our drinks, I made a spooky fruit punch and served the drink in science beakers. I made a little bit of smoke in the drinks with dry ice...

Alebrijes are a type of folk art in Mexico created by an artist named Pedro Linares, who came from a family that made piñatas. One day he became sick and had a fever dream. In the fever dream he was in a forest that was colorful and all of a sudden animals started to appear. There were...

The breed of dogs is named after an Aztec God. They are ancient dogs who are native to Mexico and Central America. They safeguard the home from evil spirits and intruders, and they are also said to have healing powers because the heat from their body was used to cure arthritis. These dogs have also served as guides to the dead as they transition from this world into the next. When creating Dante, they started by making some sketches to figure out his design and character. The next step, they would make a sculpture. They made the sculptures of Dante and Miguel together so they could look at the...

It tells a story about the true meaning of Día de los Muertos. Goodbye Christopher Robin: A Spellbinding Film

Every moment in the film had such depth and mile wide discovery. “Goodbye Christopher Robin gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A.A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin who’s stuffed animals/toys inspire the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother, Daphne (Margot Robbie) and his nanny Olive (Kelly Mac Donald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales were bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But, with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?” Simon Curtis and playwrights Frank...
