Thanks to STXfilms for the invitation Jennifer Lopez delivers an epic performance in the upcoming film “Second Act.” I loved every minute of the film, and I couldn’t wait to sit down with Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini to discuss their roles in the movie. One of my favorite things about this movie is that it is a story about a woman over the age of 40 reinventing herself. The message of the film will empower women over the age of 40. It will show women that you can be whatever you want. That it’s not over, it is just the beginning! It was one of the main reasons that Lopez wanted to make the film. “With Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas as my producing partner came up with the spark of an idea, like kind of a Working Girl, It’s a...

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Review

We attended an event as a guest of Sony “With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility”. You don’t need to be a Spidey fanatic to know those timeless words. Ever since early days of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, those very first adventures with Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy, something stuck with us and never failed to impress or inspire. Spider-Man speaks to us all, and through the countless adventures in comic books, video games, and film series, we are still barely discovering the true power and significance of what Lee and Ditko started all those years ago. It’s more than a superhero story, and something that the new film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse takes to heart in ways you can’t possibly imagine. The film is the “ultimate” game changer, breaking the mold in every category in “amazing” and “spectacular” ways....

The new film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t that story though, moving away from the classic hero tale we all know. Instead, it opens the door to a more dynamic and diverse universe that dares to take on the mainstream conventions of a superhero film. The cast and crew of the movie, just coming off completion of the final film edits less than two weeks ago, couldn’t wait to share their thoughts on the new picture. It all started with...

I attended as a guest of Disney Dancing with the Stars has been one of my all-time favorite shows on ABC. When I learned that I was going to have a dancing lesson from three of the stars from Dancing with the Stars, I literally screamed out loud with excitement. When I arrived at the popular Pro Dance LA dance studio, there was Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten & Gleb Savchenko awaiting our arrival. I got settled in and watched them rehearse the lesson they were going to teach us. The three dancers had so much energy and made the lesson so much fun. The dance they were going to teach us was to one of the popular songs in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Before we started dancing, we had an opportunity to talk with the three...

Samples provided Board games and parties are two of my favorite things, and when you put them together, it is ultimate fun. Incredibles 2 was the movie of the summer and hearing that it was coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray I knew I had to host one of my favorite boards game, snacks, and movie parties. We got the Incredibles 2 Themed Monopoly, themed Goldfish, and made some Icredibles 2 pizza to go along with our party. We set out a blanket poured some goldfish and let the festivities begin. My brothers and I are very competitive, so we started out by playing the Monopoly Junior game. We all agreed that we loved the themed characters and pieces. The characters that were moved in the game were Mr. Incredible, Violet, Elastigirl, Dash, and more! Also, instead of having...

I attended the event as a guest of Disney In celebration of the release of Disney’s Christopher Robin on Blu-ray and DVD (available today), I had a special Friendsgiving lunch with the voice of Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger, Jim Cummings. It was a day that I will remember forever, and before our lunch, I participated in an interactive flower arranging class. Inside of a giant honeypot, I learned some new tricks and techniques to create the perfect floral arrangement. Some tips that I learned was that when cutting the stems of fresh flowers, you’ll always want to cut it at an angle. Also, you’ll want to put the flower immediately in water after cutting the stem so that the flower can get all the water it needs. Arranging flowers is easier than I thought, and within minutes, I had created...

Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Teen Review

Posted by on Nov 5, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

The Nutcracker is a timeless tale that everybody loves! Ever since I was a child, I have been going to see the classical ballet, and with Disney’s new Nutcracker and the Four Realms I can watch it in a movie theater! One big twist on the film is that it is not based on the theatre performance, but on the book! Before going to see the movie with my little brother, I read the children’s book and painted my nails with the new OPI Nutcracker collection, just to put me in the holiday mood. My little brother and I were super excited for this movie because we both have our own love for Nutcracker story, and know the original story by heart. He might’ve not seen the ballet as many times as me, but we loved it just the...

He is one of the most talented voice actors in Hollywood who is responsible for bringing so many of our beloved childhood movie characters to life. He is known for being the voice of over 400 characters including Winnie-the-Pooh (and Tigger too). In celebration of the upcoming release of Christopher Robin on Blu-ray and DVD on November 6th I joined Jim Cummings for a Friendsgiving lunch at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. The minute that I arrived at the luncheon, I felt like I was in The Hundred Acre Wood. There was a long wood table until a beautiful willow tree. At the base of the tree was a small door, similar to the one that Christopher Robin walked through to spend time with his...

She suddenly finds herself in a parallel universe where she goes on a journey throughout three realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. At the beginning of her journey, she meets a soldier named Phillip who helps her to find the key. Clara...

The rain impeded my view as we pulled into the parking spot directly in front of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. Looking at the clock I noticed that we had 30 minutes until the bells chimed signaling us to enter the theater. Forgetting our umbrellas was a rookie move on my part so we sat in the car staring at the inviting lights before us. Five minutes passed and the rain eased off a bit giving us a very small window to run towards the entrance. You’re on your own were the last words I uttered to my family as I darted towards the inviting lobby. I entered our safe haven from the rain, wiping my glasses so that I could have a better visual of the room when my eyes set to the most welcoming fire...

While working on the film, it was in the back of their minds of ‘Why isn’t Vanellope, a princess?’ They thought it might be fun to have Disney poke fun of themselves so they thought that if Vanellope met all the Disney Princesses and took a selfie with them, that it might break the internet. When Pamela Ribon finished writing the scene, she had a little panic...

Entertainment Bringing Families Together

There is one thing that my family all has in common, and that is a love for entertainment. Unfortunately, the cost of cable television is something that is beyond the financial reach of many families, not allowing them to enjoy great entertainment together as a family. Since I travel a lot, and we are rarely home, I recently disconnected our home cable service. I have been researching different options to be still able to provide entertainment in our household and recently discovered at Best Buy the Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player. With the new device, our family can watch movies, shows, live TV, YouTube (my kids...

Why Parents Need to Take Their Teens to See Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

We attended the event as a guest of the venue Before going to see the musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. There were two things on my mind. #1 Who the heck is Carole King and #2 Why have I never heard of her before? I didn’t really want to research because I wanted to have that element of surprise added to the show. Let me tell you…The element of surprise did not disappoint. When the curtain opened, I could almost immediately tell that the show was based in the 1940’s – 60’s because of the outfits that were shown in the first few acts. Another thing I noticed was that I was the one of the only people under the age of 65 in the audience. I thought to myself, “this can’t be right, it’s the Segerstrom!” As...

Some of the trends are even still happening to this day. Even my brothers who are in 11th and...
