Afternoon Tea with Paddington

Posted by on Jan 12, 2018 in Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the studio In celebration of the all-new film, Paddington 2, I surprised my kids by taking them to The London West Hollywood for afternoon tea with Paddington. The morning of the event, my kids got dressed in their best clothing and were overwhelmed with excitement about seeing the movie. When we arrived at The London West Hollywood, there was a giant “Paddington” made out of balloons. My youngest son got super excited and insisted that I take his picture with the balloon character. Little did he know, that he was going to get to meet Paddington himself in person a few minutes later. Once everyone had arrived, we were welcomed into the screening room at The London West Hollywood. The kids were invited to get their favorite candy and bucket of popcorn to...

Four Things Kids will Learn from The Lion Guard: The Rise Of Scar

Posted by on Jan 10, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored The Lion King is one of my favorite Disney movies of all-time, so naturally, I instantly became a fan of the Disney Junior series The Lion Guard. When I learned about an all-new movie, “The Lion King: The Rise of Scar” being released on DVD, I couldn’t wait to get it and watch it with my younger son. The film is one of my favorite Lion Guard stories yet, and my favorite part is all the great lessons that my son took away from the story. He was able to learn about team building, problem-solving, friendship, and leadership skills. The story is centered around the dry season, and all the animals are extra cranky. The hyenas have a plan to try and bring Scar back by stealing Makini (Rafiki’s apprentice) stick and then kidnapping Kiara. The Lion Guard...

Paddington 2: A Story about Kindness and Friendship

Posted by on Jan 9, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended a screening as a guest of the studio From the first moment I watched Paddington, I fell in love with the tiny little bear cub. I absolutely love cute animals (who doesn’t?!?), and Paddington was that, plus he has a great story to tell. From the story to the characters there was nothing you couldn’t love about the cute, kind, and not to mention fluffy bear. When I saw the first commercial for Paddington 2, I was beyond excited to see the film. The first Paddington has my heart, and I didn’t think it could get much better, but it did. The heartwarming story of Paddington and all of the crazy adventures he goes on could keep me entertained for days on end. Paddington has now become my new role model because he always looks for the...

The Greatest Showman: Experiencing the Greatest Show

Posted by on Jan 8, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended a screening as a guest of the studio There are very few movies out there that are cinematic eye dazzling, body moving, tear-worthy masterpieces.  The Greatest Showman is that movie.  From the opening scene to the very end the audience’s attention is caught.  As the opening scene is about to appear you hear voices singing ‘Woah’ over and over for a good 30 seconds, this is the beginning melody from The Greatest Show.  As the melody continues, you see feet stomping on the ground and bleachers, unison to the beat of the song.  Then the voice of Hugh Jackman informs the audience that “Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve waited for…”   and he’s completely right this is the moment we have been waiting for, the moment to watch The Greatest Showman.  The movie takes us...

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Family Movie Night

Posted by on Dec 21, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored One of our favorite family traditions is to sit by the fire, sipping on hot cocoa and watching holiday movies together. With Olaf’s Frozen Adventure being all about family traditions, I planned a recent family holiday movie night for the evening that the movie was digitally released on Movies Anywhere. The night of our movie night, my kids got all dressed in their favorite Christmas pajamas. When my children came downstairs, I had a special box wrapped by the Christmas tree for them to open. Inside of the box were fun items themed after the animated Disney short. There was a small fruitcake (my favorite scene in the film), cookies, a mini Olaf plus, a dreidel, and a card inviting them to watch Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Our kids were so excited, and it was one of the most...

The Force is Strong in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Posted by on Dec 13, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of Disney Earlier in the month, I received an invitation to go to an undisclosed location to meet with the cast of the all-new movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The invitation was vague and all the details of the time and location would be disclosed to me the night before. I waited with anticipation before finally receiving my secret instructions on where in Los Angeles I would get the opportunity of a lifetime to meet with the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. When I arrived at the hotel, I was directed towards a hidden escalator that would take me to the top floor. There I would check-in with security and then take my seat in the room where the cast would soon arrive. I waited anxiously with anticipation, and then the...

Music in Embedded into the Storytelling of Disney-Pixar’s COCO

Posted by on Nov 29, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We visited Pixar as a guest of Disney In the upcoming Disney-Pixar film, COCO, they wanted the music to be an essential part of the storytelling. In the movie, Miguel wants to claim his destiny and tell his family that he is going to play music, and then everything goes wrong. When creating the music, they looked at it in three different ways: 1. They talked about source music. Ernesto de la Cruz lived in Santo de Cilia, and all the musicians come to pay tribute to him 2. Score. To hold up the emotion of the film. They explored the environment, motivation of the character in the film. 3. Original songs created for the film. They wanted to give the characters performing an iconic voice. Original songs was a great way to do that. They wanted the movie...

We attended as a guest of the venue The minute that I saw the Disney-Pixar film COCO at the world premiere, I fell in love with the magical story. It is truly the best film of the year, and I can’t wait for your family to experience the magic in theaters on November 22nd. After attending the premiere of the film, I went back to Los Angeles to learn more about the film from the cast and creators. When I entered the room at the Beverly Hilton, the room was decorated beautifully, and I took my seat eager to learn more about what it was like to make the film. The Star Movie Teen Film Review

Posted by on Nov 17, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of the studio Ever since I was a little kid, I have heard the story of the first Christmas and the birth of Jesus. From my beginner’s bible to my pocket bible I have not only read about, but my family has been telling me the story ever since I was a little girl. There has never been an animated film in the animal’s perspective based off of the first Christmas. The fact that it has never been done before just makes me want to see it even more, so I was super excited about this film. Throughout the entire movie, my brother and I were laughing about the funny ones that some of the animals made and the fact that the animals would try to talk to the humans, but they...

Wonder Movie Teen Film Review

Posted by on Nov 17, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of the studio The book Wonder by R.J Palacio has been my favorite book ever since I was old enough to read. I found out they were making a movie based on the book Wonder a couple of months ago and I started counting down the days. Wonder has such a unique and touching story, and I couldn’t wait to see how they put it into a film. When the film began to start, I was immediately struck by how realistic the whole thing was. It was like the words from the book had been put on a giant movie screen. Even though I had read the book before, it was like seeing the story in a whole new way. Being able actually to see what everyone and everything look like gives...

All of the top celebrities in Hollywood came out to celebrate the film that tells the Christmas story in a whole new way – through the eyes of the animals. When we arrived at the premiere, there were multiple activities for the children to do. There was a ring toss, hot dog on a stick, and other fun treats. My children had a blast enjoying all the different activities until it came time for the stars of the film to arrive. The ‘white’ carpet was buzzing with celebrities from the film and others who came out to support the film. Our children took pictures with some of their favorite...

Earlier in the month, I went to the Walt Disney Animation Studios to learn more about the short film and to talk with the Producer Roy Conli, Directors Stevie Wermers-Skelton & Kevin Deters, and the voice of Olaf Josh Gad. Before screening the short film, Stevie Wermers-Skelton shared with us that the story is about traditions.  We visited as a guest of the venue One of my parent’s favorite things to do when I was a child was to have a date night at the Hollywood Bowl. I always thought that my husband and I would follow in their footsteps, but life gets busy when raising three children, and it finally worked out with our schedule to make our first visit to the Hollywood Bowl this past weekend. While I thought my first visit to the Hollywood Bowl would be a date night, we ended up bringing the kids for an unforgettable night under the stars for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We got box tickets (which I highly recommend when coming with young children). We left early and planned to arrive right when the gates opened, which again, I recommend doing when bringing your...

Action Meets Comedy in Thor: Ragnarok

Posted by on Nov 3, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended a screening as a guest of Disney My two boys eat, sleep and dream superheroes. While raising my boys, they have passed their love of action and adventure onto me, who now also enjoys a great superhero movie. Whenever a new Marvel film comes out, my boys are counting down the days until they will have a chance to see the films, and this was the case with Thor: Ragnarok. When I got an invitation to take my teenage son to the Thor: Ragnarok premiere, I expected the film to be full of action, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the film had the most amount of comedy than any other Marvel film. After all, it is the comedy that makes their films so enjoyable to watch. While watching Thor: Ragnarok my son...

The Creation of Thor: Ragnarok

Posted by on Nov 1, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

After attending the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok, I had the honor of attending a press conference with the talented actors and creators of Thor: Ragnarok. The cast in the film Thor: Ragnarok has perfect chemistry as they worked hard to create one of the best Marvel films ever made. When I entered the room at the Montage in Beverly Hills, I took my seat in the front row and anxiously anticipated the arrival of the cast. As the moderator began to announce the names of the cast and they entered the room, all of the press started to clap and cheer. Once your family sees the film, you will notice that Thor is unlike any other superhero. Chris Hemsworth commented on this fact by saying, “I think we all had a vision and an idea. We wanted to...

Hotel Transylvania Family Movie Night

Posted by on Oct 30, 2017 in Crafts, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored One of our favorite things to do together as a family is to have movie nights. We will come together as a family, enjoy tasty food and stream our favorite movies while creating memories that will last a lifetime together. When I learned about the all-new app Movies Anywhere, I thought it was a great idea to plan a ‘Halloween-themed’ movie night and downloaded Hotel Transylvania on the app. My favorite part of our family movie nights is creating food that is themed after the movie. Since I knew that we were going to be watching Hotel Transylvania, I thought of some fun vampire and bat-themed foods to serve. For our drinks, I made a spooky fruit punch and served the drink in science beakers. I made a little bit of smoke in the drinks with dry ice...
