An Afternoon with Dan TDM

Posted by on Apr 7, 2017 in Entertainment, Film, Television Shows | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of YouTube My son has never played Minecraft, but he sure loves watching one of his favorite YouTube stars Dan TDM play the game. Over the past couple of years, he has been watching his YouTube channel, and I didn’t realize how big of a fan he was until we got an invite to go to YouTube Space in LA to meet Dan TDM. When I mentioned the invitation to my son, he nearly passed out with excitement. He circled the date on my calendar and started counting down the days until he was going to meet his favorite YouTube star. I waited until we were on our way to LA to surprise my son with the news that he was going to get a one on one meet and greet with Dan TDM...

World Premiere of Big Little Lies

Posted by on Mar 21, 2017 in Entertainment, Featured, Television Shows | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of TCL Little did I know when driving up to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago for the world premiere of HBO’s Big Little Lies, that the show would become my all-time favorite series. The night of the premiere, I got on my prettiest dress and picked up my friend Darice to go to the premiere. Outside of the TCL Chinese Theatres was a long blue carpet where celebrities were getting ready to walk down before entering the theater. We found a spot on the carpet and eagerly awaited our favorite celebrities to arrive. While on the “blue” carpet, we got a chance to meet Nicole Kidman (squeal), Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, and more. Once the last celebrity had walked the carpet, everyone entered the TCL Chinese Theatre to watch the debut of...

Ronja the Robber’s Daughter on Amazon

Posted by on Jan 30, 2017 in Entertainment, Television Shows | 0 comments

Early screening provided I love anime movies! When my mom got a pre-screening of Ronja the Robber’s daughter, I was a little confused at first. First of all, I have never heard of this series and was excited to watch something new. And second, of all, I was happy that it is anime because you can never go wrong with anime. We received the first 16 episodes, and I couldn’t wait to watch them all. When I started the series, I was immediately into it. You can watch Ronja live her life from when she is a newborn baby to when she gets older. She faces many challenges but goes on mind-blowing adventures. One of the reasons I love this series is because it is relatable to real life situations. She meets people she likes and people she dislikes...

Amazon Prime’s Just Add Magic

Posted by on Jan 16, 2017 in Entertainment, Television Shows | 0 comments

We were invited as a guest for a private screening of Amazon’s Just Add Magic. When my daughter found out we were going to attend a private screening and Q & A with the stars of Just Add Magic, she was giddy with excitement.  Not only were we going to get to see a private screening of episode 1 of season 2 but also were treated to tasty treats, a DIY station for decorating aprons, and a chance to talk to the cast.   Amazon’s Just Add Magic series is a favorite in our house.  Being a child of the 70’s, my parents didn’t have to search for a “family friendly” show for us to watch.  There was pretty much one on every channel, (all seven channels), at any time throughout the day and evening.   Fast forward 40 years...

Netflix Trollhunters Inspired Rock Trolls Craft

Posted by on Dec 27, 2016 in Crafts, Entertainment, Television Shows | 0 comments

We are a member of the Netflix Stream Team The minute that my kids saw their first episode of Trollhunters on Netflix, they fell in love with the show. They were immersed into a world where the trolls live, and couldn’t stop talking about the show for days after watching the first couple of episodes. Since my kids love the Netflix series so much, I decided to help them make their own trolls at home, so we made rock trolls. My kids favorite part of making this craft was acting out some scenes from the series while searching for rocks around the neighborhood. All of the rocks the kids collected were just as unique as the trolls in the Netflix series. They had a blast taking their time to carefully find rocks that looked just like the trolls in...

Behind-the-Scenes of Dr. Ken

Posted by on Oct 26, 2016 in Entertainment, Television Shows | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the studio Earlier this month, we had the unique opportunity of going behind-the-scenes of the making of the popular ABC television series Dr. Ken. I was given a tour of the set where they film the show, meet with the cast and snap a ton of pictures. If you haven’t been on the set of a television series before, it is super cool. The sets are located inside of large buildings (soundstages) with the soundstage for Dr. Ken being located on the Sony Studios lot in Century City. Inside of the building is small sets that make-up the different place where the film the series. Before going on my first set visit, I thought that when they were filming inside of a house that it was a full house built inside of the...

We are a member of the Netflix Stream Team Form Voltron! Once your kids watch the all-new Netflix series Voltron: Legendary Defender they are definitely going to want to have a Voltron themed birthday party. While I was at Dreamworks Animation Studios last month, they hosted a festive Voltron themed luncheon for us, and it felt like I was reliving my childhood Voltron birthday party. During the luncheon they had Voltron coloring place mats, a candy bar, and the cutest Voltron themed cupcakes for dessert. The cupcakes were adorable and were the perfect addition to the Voltron luncheon. Everyone at the party was asking the staff at Dreamworks about how they were able to make the cupcakes, and they generously offered the DIY tutorial for us to share with all of you on how to make Voltron cupcakes. When...

10 Ways to Get Your Teen to Unplug

We are a member of the Netflix Stream Team Do you have a teenager? Are they always connected to a device? What teen isn’t? Teens of today are always texting, snapping, and live streaming every moment of their life using their mobile devices. The biggest downside is that they are more disconnected from physical relationships, and miss opportunities to learn essential social skills. How do you get your teen to disconnect and join your family at the moment? These are our ten top tips: 1. Hide the chargers. While this is not my #1 recommendation, and there will be tears, your teen will be forced to unplug, and spend quality time with your family. 2. Cut off their wifi. There are multiple devices that parents can utilize that will help with managing their children’s online access. There is the...

Since we have been enjoying the new Netflix series, and I encourage my children to build strong friendships, we made these adorable (and easy) LEGO Friends friendship rings to give to all their friends at school. The kids used their “LEGO-tivity” to add different creations to personalize the rings using spare parts from their LEGO kits. Each of the rings is unique, special, and made with love for each of their friends. How do you make them? It is super easy. Step one:...

I’ve watched every episode from beginning to end, some two to three times and even watched Jesse over and over!” The “Fuller House” Premiere was fantastic to attend at the Grove in Los Angeles. They were on the edge of their seats laughing hysterically at the corny jokes in the new series. What did I think of it? I loved it just as much as my kids did. It was just as...
