Kaleidoscope Trick or Treat Pumpkin Party

  Kaleidoscope will host its annual Trick or Treat Pumpkin Dance Party on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 3:30 pm. The free event will include trick-or-treating, dancing to music from a DJ, games, free face painting. For $5, children can pick and paint a pumpkin from Kaleidoscope’s pumpkin patch. Costumed youngsters ages 12 and under are invited to bring their own treat bag and stroll the center trick-or-treating at participating stores and restaurants, from 1 to 3:30 pm, or while supplies last. In addition, children who turn in their Trick or Treat passport card, stamped by the various participating shops at Kaleidoscope, will have an opportunity to win a Grand Pumpkin Giveaway Basket filled with candy and an iPad. Flower Power at the Flowerchild Festival

 Sponsored The OC Great Park was buzzing this past weekend with families attending the first annual Flowerchild Festival. There was a lot of excitement surrounding the event, and families were lining up to get into the festival to enjoy the family fun. The event was located in the heart of the OC Great Park, next to the carousel. In the hanger was a ton of vendors handing out samples and information about their businesses. Raffles were happening, kids getting braids in their hair, and Mom’s Orange County was educating parents about the different services they offer the community.   Outlets at San Clemente is proud to announce its third annual Shopping Extravaganza charity fundraiser on Saturday, October 7, to benefit 38 local nonprofits. During the event, consumers receive exclusive discounts at most stores, while Outlets at San Clemente donates $25 for every $35 ticket purchased to a local nonprofit organization of the shopper’s choice. In 2015, the inaugural event raised $37,465 to benefit 18 local nonprofits. Last year’s event raised $42,150 to benefit 25 local nonprofits.  We visited as a guest of the venue If you are lucky and look closely across the horizon on the cliffs of Dana Point on a random September day, you can see “pirate” ships sailing on the waves to the Tall Ships Festival at the Ocean Institute.    Sadly, I missed that glorious day, but my daughter and I were equally lucky to meet the mermaids that swam to shore to see these magnificent ships up close.  The three day Tall Ship Festival started Friday night with the Parade of Sail and ended Sunday evening with the Cannon Battles. In between the celebrations, the Ocean Institute was able to connect with the Mer-kingdom and brought to surface some beautiful mermaids for children to meet.
