DelFrescoPure: Fueling Healthy Families

Posted by on Nov 22, 2019 in Events | 0 comments

Sponsored Earlier this month, I had the honor of attending the PMA (Produce Marking Association) 2019 Fresh Summit International Convention & Expo. Fueling kids with healthy food is one of my passions, and getting to see so many companies that share the same passion together in one venue was like a dream come true. At their booth, they had set-up a living cube so that attendees had an opportunity to see how the microgreens and living lettuce is grown without ever being touched by human hands. The Living Cube growing systems aligns with DelFrescoPure vision of leaving a smaller physical footprint, using no pesticides, constant year-round output, reduced freshwater consumption, and system flexibility. City of Hope “Wishing Tree” at More Than Pink Walk

Posted by on Sep 24, 2019 in Events, Featured, Health | 0 comments

Sponsored One of the special things that my daughter and I saw at the Susan G. Komen More Thank Pink walk over the weekend was the City of Hope Wishing Tree. It was the first thing that we saw at the walk, and we spent more of our time reading personalized wishes on the trees. Something special that I learned when talking with the people from the City of Hope is that they have these trees on their campus in Duarte. Plus, they are hoping to have them at the upcoming facility in Orange County that is expected to open in FivePoint’s Great Park Neighborhoods by 2021. The new state-of-the-art cancer campus is...

Clean Eating at an Angels Game

Posted by on Sep 11, 2019 in Dining, Events, Featured, Health | 0 comments

We attended an Angels game as a guest While it is well-known that most people will have a hotdog, peanuts (and beer for the parents) at a ballgame, things have changed. Parents want healthier options for their kids growing bodies – even at a baseball game. Feeding my kids nutritious food is a passion of mine. Ever since my son developed severe food allergies, I saw the impact that processed foods vs. real foods had on his body. Packaged food isn’t always worth the risk of an epi-pen injection with an ER visit. With most stadiums not allowing guests to bring in their own food, we avoided bringing him to events where he would not have access to clean eating until recently. Melissa’s Produce now offers families healthy food options at Angels Stadium and many other locations. With my...

I purchased a reusable cooler at Smart & Final, and then picked out all my kids’ favorite snacks to enjoy while watching the ball game. I was able to get all our food for the game (to feed my kids + my friends kid for less than $20!) If we were to...

The success of the chicken dinners was immediate, and by 1940, visitors were standing in line for hours to try Cordelia’s famous fried chicken. Mrs. Knott’s signature fried chicken dinner meal continues to be served with its family-style dining that...
