Sponsored by Mercury Insurance Did you know that car crashes are the leading cause of death for 15 to 19-year-olds nationwide? One thing that we have taken very seriously with our teenage son is driving education. When we were younger, we went to the DMV on our 16th birthday. Took the driving test, and then went out with our friends to celebrate. As parents, looking back, we were both not 100% ready to be driving independently on the road. As our son approached his 16th birthday, we didn’t feel that he was ready to take his driving test. We decided to extend his driving education and recently brought him to a one-day immersive driving school hosted by Mercury Insurance at the Honda Center. My son had attended the course last year, right after getting his permit. Now that we...

While enjoying the view of Santa Ana hills displaying their brightest Spring greens and flowers, I had a chance to get to know Karen, a lovely neighbor living in Modjeska I had never met before. Sea animals and marine biology have been a huge part of my life growing up. Especially since I only live about 3 miles from the ocean. I have grown up walking around tide pools and learning all about the ocean. Just recently I discovered the centers and places in Laguna Beach that can help teach me more about marine biology. One of my new favorites is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. One of my favorite things about this Center is that it is right off of Laguna Canyon Road which is right next to my house. Pacific Marine Mammal Center focuses on Seal Lions and Seals in the area. Due to malnourishment and dehydration, more sea lions are coming in, and the Center is right there to help with that. From the very second, the show started to the last second, the energy was always so high and never faltered. It had me singing along to every classic song during and after the show. We visited as a guest of Disneyland   Holiday’s at the Disneyland Resort is something my family has been celebrating since I was a child and it is one of those traditions that I will never get tired of experiencing. From the beautiful lights to the yummy treats at Disneyland, it is a magical way to celebrate the holidays. This year I went with my mom, and we got to experience the holidays just as they began. One of my favorite things every year at is the Disneyland Christmas tree. Every year at Disneyland they have the most fantastic tree that I could stare at for hours. We visited as a guest of the venue Every year our family looks forward to celebrating the holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood. Our favorite part of the holiday celebration is getting to experience Grinchmas. The first thing that we noticed was the giant 40-foot tall Christmas tree that features 200,000 LED icicles! The tree sparkles every night, and the lights are choreographed to the sounds of the season – plus Santa also makes a special appearance too. As we walked through Universal CityWalk, we admired all the...

Holiday Celebrations at Bluewater Grill in Newport Beach

We dined as a guest of the venue Earlier this week, we were guests of Bluewater Grill in Newport Beach, CA. The occasion was an early holiday date night complete with a Stuffed Lobster meal that is currently being offered at all the Bluewater Grill locations. The stuffed lobster is a favorite amongst the regulars at Bluewater Grill and is a New England Holiday Tradition. The lobster gets stuffed instead of the bird. This tradition was started by restaurants in the Boston area but has caught on this side of the coast. We arrived for our reservations and were immediately walked to our table. We chose inside seating, but the restaurant offers some great outside seating by the docks with great views of Newport harbor. As we took our seat, the freshly baked sourdough bread (unlimited for those of...

When we first arrived, we went to Santa’s Christmas Cabin to visit with Santa. My daughter sat next to Santa and whispered all her Christmas wishes into his ear. After visiting Santa, we walked around and did a little holiday shopping at the Christmas Crafts Village. Throughout Ghost Town are many vendors selling handmade crafts that make the perfect holiday gifts. Then the time had come for the giant tree located in the heart of Knott’s Berry Farm...
