Fun and Games with Kaijudo Elite Series Triple Strike Deck

Posted by on Aug 19, 2013 in Toys | 0 comments

It has been a summer of fun and games; I love that the kids have free time…time to just play and be kids.  Cal has been learning how to play Kaijudo, a popular trading card game where players duel pretty amazing creatures and compete in a battle to save the world with the Kaijudo Elite Series Triple Strike Deck. Kids can enjoy collecting and building their Kaijudo card collection with booster packs and competitive decks.  As they build their collection of creatures, they become skilled and able to win the ultimate battle against their competitors. With the Kaijudo Elite Series Triple Strike Deck, children can also create their own fighting style as they strategize on how to combine creatures by combining creatures to provide more power. The Kaijudo Elite Series Triple Strike Deck provides children with good old fashioned game playing...

Doggie Doo from Goliath Games

Posted by on Aug 16, 2013 in Toys | 0 comments

From the makers of Gooey Louie and Pop the Pig comes Doggie Doo!  Doggie Doo from Goliath Games is a great game for my kids, since they are always asking for a dog! It comes with everything you see here to feed and walk your dog and collect his poop! After you feed your dog, you roll the die to see how many times you squeeze the handle to help your doggie digest his food. It’s pretty noisy, all that digesting. The funny noises will keep your kids giggling!  Eventually the food makes its way through the doggie and out the end. And the kids think it is absolutely hilarious!  Keep feeding your doggie and collecting the poop!  The first person to collect 3 poops, wins!  To learn more, visit http://www.doggiedoogame.com/. Jaime is a homeschooling mama of two, wife of...

The Horndribbles – Zapp and the Oogah-Oogah Nut (Giveaway)

Posted by on Jul 9, 2013 in Family, Giveaways, Toys | 15 comments

Brand new from Explorers’ Playground come the Horndribbles, special monsters from the imagination of Herbert Joel! Ten years ago, he imagined a wacky, fun, and special world full of monsters that he called “Horndribbles.” In order to bring this imaginary world a reality, Herbert began hand-sewing plush Horndribbles. At first, he made just a few dozen, which he gave to his family and friends. Their popularity inspired him to sew several hundred more Horndribbles for sale at local art shows. Today, it is his great honor to share with you these special monsters and the adventures that go with them!   We received Zapp, and my daughter has not put him down since! She loves to snuggle him and has nicknamed him “horn-sharp.”   My kids, 10 and 4 both love the book, Zapp and Oogah-Oogah Nut! Adventures of...

Gooey Louie from Goliath Games

Posted by on Jul 2, 2013 in Family, Toys | 0 comments

Brand new from Goliath Games is Gooey Louie, a game that will keep your kids giggling! You have probably heard (and said) the phrase “you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your friend’s nose” but Gooey Louie, a new game by Goliath wants to change that. Yes, it’s true! Gooey Louie is a real game made by the same company that brought you Doggie Doo and Pop the Pig. It’s also true that it’s a game where you take turns picking  green gooey things out of Louie’s nose. My kids couldn’t wait to put Gooey Louie together and get those gooeys! Each player takes a turn rolling the die to see how many gooeys they need to pick out of Louie’s nose, until someone picks the special gooey that will make his eyes pop and...

Summer Reading Series: The Wig in the Window

Posted by on Jun 26, 2013 in Toys | 0 comments

Andrew received a review copy of The Wig in the Window. The Wig in the Window is a great book about two girl tweens who are spies and always taking midnight missions, literally. One night during one of their missions they spy on their principle, Charlotte Agford, and they witness a murder that she had done. Then they start to think that Agford is a serial killer. So they try to find out if Agford isn’t really who she says she is. So then they try to find out if she is a serial killer or not. The story is a big mystery that you will never want to stop reading. One that people will want to read over and over again. It is a book I would recommend for kids ages 11 and up. That is because there...

Summer Learning Fun with Vikings Brainstorm

Posted by on Jun 23, 2013 in Toys | 0 comments

I want to keep summer fun for the kids but also keep their minds strong over the two months they will be out of school. One of the ways, that I keep summer learning fun is with educational games that don’t feel so educational like the Vikings Brainstorm game. When I first pulled out this game for the boys, they thought it was just like any other board game, but their minds are working harder than they realize while playing it. The one player game is recommended for children over the age of six years, and has 60 different challenges to keep it fun and exciting. Your children will be developing logic thinking skills, strategic planning, visual and spatial perception while playing the game. The game is an interactive puzzle game where children have to move the pieces...

Summer Reading at The Dollar Book Store

Posted by on Jun 22, 2013 in Featured, Shopping, Toys | 0 comments

If your kids are anything like mine, they will be spending the summer burning through thousands of pages of books from their summer reading list. Instead of burning a huge hole in my wallet at the local Barnes and Noble, we spend our summer getting books at The Dollar Book Store in the Laguna Hills Mall. Every book inside of the dollar book store is just $1 – that is right a buck! On our last visit my kids scored the entire Harry Potter series for just a dollar each book. Most of the books for sale in the book store are in perfect condition. There is a large variety of early reader books, teen books, and adult books. I have stumbled across some of my favorite recipes in the cookbooks found at the dollar book store. The...

Throwback Thursday: Sea Monkey’s (Giveaway)

Posted by on May 23, 2013 in Giveaways, Toys | 7 comments

We are trying something a little new around here with this special “Throwback Thursday” giveaway. While searching everywhere for marbles for the kiddos, I came across one of my all-time favorite toys as a kid – Sea Monkey’s! My youngest Tyler had never heard of Sea Monkey’s before, and I was so excited to tell him all about them. I remember getting my very first Sea Monkey kit when I was just six years old for Christmas. As I woke-up every morning to feed and care for my magical sea creatures – now I get to share this same memory with my kids. We put the fresh water into the plastic aquarium this afternoon, and tomorrow we will plant the eggs. Only time will tell if my kids fall in love with these creatures from under the sea...

Razor Trikke E2

Posted by on Apr 16, 2013 in Featured, Toys, Uncategorized | 0 comments

We have been a Razor family since my kids first learned how to walk. Every year, Razor keeps coming out with newer and exciting scooters that keep my kids outside and active. Keeping active kids is a struggle with our generation, and the new Razor Trikke E2 will get any kid away from their computer screens and outside having fun. What makes the Razor Trikke E2 different from the traditional electric scooter? It adds a new dimension with the ability for kids to swag and move while riding around the neighborhood. For more advanced riders, they can do more fun tricks. It has been a hit since first arriving at my doorstep with my youngest child to my oldest child. It has quickly become one of their favorite Razor Scooters to ride. My daughters favorite feature of the...
