We attended the event as a guest of Disney. I love watching the Disney Channel with my children. The one thing I love about the network is that I never had to worry about pre-screening a show before allowing the kids to watch it. I always have comfort in knowing that everything on the network is kid-friendly, and aligns with our family morals. Recently, our family was invited to the Disneyland Resort to get a sneak peek of the new television series, Gabby Duran and the Unsittables. When I told my kids about the event, they could not wait (even my teenagers). The kids had already seen the previews on the Disney Channel and were excited to begin watching the new series. The morning of the event, the kids got dressed right away, and we drove to the Happiest...

Sponsored Having a degree in Early Childhood Education, play-based learning has always been a passion of mine while raising my children. There is something magical about watching children learn through nature. My older two children attended a traditional elementary school, and my youngest is currently enrolled in a Waldorf school. I have been able to see the significant difference between the two educational philosophies. I have been able to see how much my younger son has thrived by learning through play, nature, and an education based on my child’s development. “Education is a journey, not a race.” A lot of families that attend our elementary school also participate in Tinkergarten classes with their children. Tinkergarten offers educational experiences for children ages six months to 8 years of age in the best classroom, nature! Children have a unique opportunity to...

Clean Eating at an Angels Game

We attended an Angels game as a guest While it is well-known that most people will have a hotdog, peanuts (and beer for the parents) at a ballgame, things have changed. Parents want healthier options for their kids growing bodies – even at a baseball game. Feeding my kids nutritious food is a passion of mine. Ever since my son developed severe food allergies, I saw the impact that processed foods vs. real foods had on his body. Packaged food isn’t always worth the risk of an epi-pen injection with an ER visit. With most stadiums not allowing guests to bring in their own food, we avoided bringing him to events where he would not have access to clean eating until recently. Melissa’s Produce now offers families healthy food options at Angels Stadium and many other locations. With my...

Melissa’s Produce has spiced up my family cooking by introducing me to unique and delicious produce, and this event turned it up a notch. As an Orange County native, I have never been to Artesia (gasp!). I really didn’t even know where it was until I searched it on my GPS. I quickly realized that I drive right past it 2-3 times a week on my way to attend events in LA, and could of been experiencing the best Indian food in SoCal for all these years. I had only done...

I attended the interviews of the cast of Disney’s Dumbo as a guest of Disney Disney’s Dumbo is a classic tale that everyone must see at least once in their life time. Recently they have come out with a live action version. I had the privilege of attending the world premiere, and then going to Los Angeles to speak with the creators and actors from the film about their experience. We began by speaking with the following people Danny Elfman (composer), Collen Atwood (costume), Rick Heinricks (production and design), Ehren Kruge (producer/screenwriter), Justin Springer (producer), Derek Frey (producer), and Katterli Frauenfelde (producer). The opening question in the press junket was what it was like to create a Tim Burton. Ultimate Girlfriend Glamping Getaway

We visited as a guest of the Ventura Ranch KOA My girlfriends and I had been wanting to have a getaway together for such a long time. We didn’t want to take the traditional girlfriend getaway like to Palm Springs or Vegas. One of my friends suggested that we take a girls glamping trip to the Ventura Ranch KOA. Most of my friends had never been camping before, and they were excited to experience glamping as their first “camping” experience. The Ventura Ranch KOA was just a short drive from Orange County and is nestled in the beautiful Ventura mountains. The minute that I arrived at the KOA, I felt all my stress from parenting drift away while in the serene environment. The Ventura Ranch KOA offers something for every camper. There are places for guests to park their...

Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach

Posted by on Mar 19, 2019 in Cool Places, Events, Family, Featured | 0 comments

Sea animals and marine biology have been a huge part of my life growing up. Especially since I only live about 3 miles from the ocean. I have grown up walking around tide pools and learning all about the ocean. Just recently I discovered the centers and places in Laguna Beach that can help teach me more about marine biology. One of my new favorites is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. One of my favorite things about this Center is that it is right off of Laguna Canyon Road which is right next to my house. Pacific Marine Mammal Center focuses on Seal Lions and Seals in the area. Due to malnourishment and dehydration, more sea lions are coming in, and the Center is right there to help with that. They take sick animals in and treat them until...

We attended the premiere of Dumbo as a guest of Disney When I received the invitation to attend the world premiere of Disney’s Dumbo, I was ecstatic. Dumbo was one of my favorite movies as a child. Getting to see the remastered live-action version as an adult for the first time at the world premiere was a dream come true. I decided to take my daughter with me to see the film, and planned a special mother/daughter day getting ready for the premiere. We started the day off by getting coffee at Starbucks, and then went to get our lashes perfected. Next, we were off to Los Angeles where we would get our makeup and hair done before putting on our dresses for the premiere. Getting ready for the premiere with my teenage daughter was so special. I attended an interview with the cast of Captain Marvel as a guest of Disney I had no idea what to expect when going to see Captain Marvel for the first time. The minute that the movie started, I was immersed in the film. I knew that I was going to love seeing a movie that has a woman as the lead role, but what ended up being my favorite thing about the movie is the messaging. The most important message that I took away from the film was the importance of friendship. I put on my favorite Buckle Down Captain Marvel belt, and went to Los Angeles to meet with the cast, and to hear their thoughts on making the film. Brie Larson who plays the role of Captain Marvel talked a lot about the bond that her...

Get a Sugar Rush at Candytopia in Santa Monica

Posted by on Jul 9, 2018 in Cool Places, Featured | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Let’s face it…we’re all a little obsessed with social media and getting the perfect photo. When it comes to Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook photos everyone wants them to be perfect. And what better place to take excellent pictures than a place solely meant for just that! Located in Santa Monica, Candytopia is one of the best picture museums I have ever visited. One thing that made this museum so much fun is that its the whole theme was candy. It was literally my two favorite things in the world, taking pictures, and candy. When my mom told me we were going to be doing this during our weekend trip to Santa Monica I immediately picked out my favorite outfits and got ready for the exciting photo opportunities there would be during...

We visited as a guest of the venue When planning our upcoming Mother and Daughter getaway to explore the history and culture of Querétaro, I knew that I wanted to stay in boutique style hotels to fully experience the culture and history of the beautiful city. We used Pied à Terre to find La Casa De Los Dos Leones in Querétaro because they are the premier community to help travelers with finding the best boutique hotels that focus on culture, art, and gastronomy. Moments after arriving in Querétaro, our driver took us to La Casa De Los Dos Leones which was located in the heart of the city, and where a beautiful Kia Sorento was in the parking lot awaiting our arrival. As we walked into the lobby, we were greeted by the staff who offered us a refreshing...

Walking in Walt’s Footsteps: A Photo Tour of Walt Disney’s Office

Posted by on May 30, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of Disney While visiting the Walt Disney Studios lot earlier this month, I embarked on an unforgettable scavenger hunt around the studios, and then had the honor of touring Walt Disney’s office. It has been a long time dream of mine to go into his office, and I was immersed in the magic of Disney while walking in Walt’s footsteps. Everything in Walt Disney’s office has been placed and preserved precisely how it was when he was alive, and I felt like Walt was right there with us while walking around his office. Since his office isn’t open to the public, I took as many photos as possible to give all of you an inside look into what his office looked like when he was alive. Enjoy this magical photo tour, and experience the...

We attended as a guest of Disney While I was pregnant with my youngest son, I was put on bed rest very early on in the pregnancy. Being stuck in bed for 16 weeks, I watched a lot of television, and one of my favorite shows to watch every day was General Hospital. Every afternoon, I would look forward to seeing what was happening in Port Charles. I continued to watch it daily while caring for my baby, but as he got active, I found myself having to record and then watch a week full of episodes during the weekend. Being such a fan of the show, I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to visit the set of General Hospital. The morning that I was going to be visiting, I was overwhelmed with excitement. I couldn’t...

I attended as a guest of Disney I have had the honor of attending many world premiere’s and Solo: A Star Wars Story is by far the best premiere I have ever attended. When I arrived at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the entire street was closed off for the premiere. In the center of the red carpet was a giant replica of the Millennium Falcon, and fans crowded the street with excitement over the possibility of seeing one of their favorite Star Wars actors. I attended the premiere with a group of parenting bloggers, and I walked the carpet with my friend Heidi. Together, we took our time walking down the carpet, taking pictures and enjoying the energy from the crowd. We enjoyed every minute of our time spent on the red carpet. After taking hundreds of pictures...

We visited as a guest of the venue This past weekend I was treated to an early Mother’s Day brunch by the sea at the beautiful Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica. The boutique hotel is the perfect place to treat mom to brunch on Mother’s Day because of the hotel’s beautiful ocean views, timeless decor and excellent cuisine. While I had the pleasure of enjoying brunch in their elegant restaurant, brunch on Mother’s Day will be served al fresco under the beautiful Santa Monica sun on the outdoor hotel patio. Brunch began with a champagne toast before embarking on an epicurean adventure. Our first course was a refreshing gazpacho shooter that perfectly cleansed our palate before savoring the next five courses. The highlight of our brunch was the avocado toast. The dish featured perfectly crisp toast topped with thinly...

Vehicle provided by Kia When planning a mother and daughter trip to Joshua Tree, one of my friends mentioned to me that we needed to hike to heart rock. Unfortunately, there is barely anything written online about how to find the mysterious heart rock, so we set off on an adventure to find heart rock. There were only a few things that we knew about heart rock before going on a hike, and that was that it is located in the White Tank Campground along the Arch Rock Nature Trail. Before checking into our campsite, we drove in our Kia Sorento to Arch Rock Nature Trail in an attempt to find heart rock. The trail is only .5 miles, but we seemed to hike for at least a couple of miles. We hiked all over the area until the...

We attended the event as a guest of Disney The upcoming film, Avengers: Infinity War, has created so much buzz and anticipation. My oldest son, who is one of the biggest Marvel fans that I know has been following the news that has been being leaked out about this movie for over a year. He has watched every trailer, read every news story, and spent countless hours reviewing his old comic books to try and figure out what he would see when watching the movie. After seeing the film last night, nothing could have prepared him for what he was going to see, and he described the movie as “jaw-dropping.” Days before taking my son to see the movie at the El Capitan Theatre, I was treated to an unforgettable day with the cast of the film. It was...

We visited as a guest of Kia After having an eventful day at the New York Auto Show for the unveiling of the all-new 2019 Kia Optima and K900, I had an unforgettable 24 hours in New York City. The perfect day in NYC started with a short walk from the Soho Grand Hotel to Jack’s Wife Freda for breakfast. The adorable cafe is located in the heart of lower Manhattan and has a fresh and healthy menu. There were so many delicious choices to choose from on the menu, making it hard to pick just one. While I can never normally resist a delicious benny, it was the poached eggs with grilled tomato and haloumi that tantalized my taste buds. The dish was light, refreshing and the perfect meal to start that day in NYC. Raindrops were slowly...
