A ‘Suite’ Staycation at DoubleTree Doheny Beach

Posted by on May 4, 2017 in Featured, Staycation, Travel | 0 comments

We stayed as a guest of the resort Staycations are the best kind of vacations. Orange County is its own little paradise, and instead of traveling afar to find a beautiful paradise, we try to enjoy as much of the beauty of Orange County by having as many staycations as possible. Our favorite staycations are ones spent by the beach, and our recent staycation at the DoubeTree Doheny Beach was one we will remember forever. The weather was perfect the weekend of our staycation. We arrived on a Friday afternoon at the DoubleTree Doheny Beach and checked into our ocean view suite for the weekend. Within minutes of arriving at the resort, my children had changed into their swimsuits and were ready to go across the street to play at the beach. The beach is just steps away from...

I was overwhelmed with excitement about seeing the film, and getting to be in the same room with some of the most talented people in Hollywood. We played a game of Ro-Sham-Bo to see who in my family was going to be my guest to attend the screening of the film, and my youngest son Tyler was the...

We visited as a guest of Disney Princess Elena is one of my kid’s favorite princess. The minute that she first debuted to the world on television, our family fell in love with her. She is a princess with a heart of gold who spreads kindness throughout the world. This holiday season, your family can visit Princess Elena at Disney California Adventure Park and enjoy a festive street parade called Princess Elena’s Musical Grand Arrival. When our family celebrated the holiday season at the Disneyland Resort this year, the first thing that we did was go to see Princess Elena’s Musical Grand Arrival. Our kids were dancing to the music as Princess Elena arrived on a beautifully decorated float. She sung some of our favorite songs and then came off the float for a few minutes to greet some...

The 80’s are Back with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on Dec 13, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of Disney Just like many of you, I grew up watching Star Wars. I would dress up like Princess Leia and immerse myself into the magical world of Star Wars while doing imaginative play with my friends. Star Wars was a big part of my childhood, and when I had children, I knew that I wanted it to be a part of their childhood too. Once my kids were old enough to start walking, I purchased them their first box set of the Star Wars movies. As they have grown-up, we have spent many nights watching Star Wars together, and I’ll even dress-up for some imaginary play time with them from time to time. Recently, new Star Wars films have begun coming out, and now our children are starting to have a...

I attended the event as a guest of Disney Last week something incredible happened… My daughter and I had just arrived in Yosemite for a mother/daughter getaway. Once we arrived at the hotel, I had to go into a short meeting, and my daughter returned to the room to relax after our long drive. When I returned to the room to meet my daughter, I opened the door, and she started talking with so much excitement that I could barely make out the words that she was saying. Then I heard her say, “Mom, you missed a call while you were gone, and you got invited to the world premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!” And then we both started screaming!! Words cannot describe how excited and honored I felt to have been invited to this once...

The ground is covered in sawdust and as you walk through its gates you immediately feel the magic of Christmas....

We saw the film as a guest of Disney Moana is one of the most magical things to ever be created by the Walt Disney Animation Studios. There was so much research that went into the film and so many fun facts about the making of the movie that we wanted to share our five favorite facts about the film Moana. While it your might think that Moana is wearing the same outfit in the movie – look closer because she wears seven different outfits. One of her most elaborate outfits was only shown for six seconds in the film during a dance sequence. My favorite character in the film, Heihei was originally going to be a smart and sassy chicken, but the filmmakers didn’t feel like it was working with the film, and almost cut his character from...

The minute that we stepped foot on the “blue carpet” I looked over at my beautiful daughter who was beaming with happiness. There was a Polynesian band who was playing festive music to greet all of the guests attending the...

We are a Discovery Cube OC Ambassador Do your kids love Dinosaurs? Then you’ll not want to miss bringing them to see the Extreme Dinosaurs exhibit at Discovery Cube OC. The interactive exhibit immerses children into a prehistoric world where dinosaurs come to life right before your eyes. When we first visited the exhibit, my son was in awe. As we first stepped foot into the exhibit, the dinosaurs began to come to life. They were moving, growling, and roaring. It was thrilling to watch the realistic dinosaurs come to life. There are a couple of stations where my son was able to push a button to bring particular dinosaurs to life along with detailed descriptions of each dinosaur on exhibit. We spent hours reading about the different dinosaurs and exploring the unique fossils and skeletons that were on...

San Diego Staycation at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Posted by on Jun 1, 2016 in Featured, San Diego, Staycation, Travel | 0 comments

We stayed as a guest of the resort San Diego is one of my favorite summer staycation destinations with the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina being one of the premier resorts for families. The resort is centrally located right on the waterfront and is just steps away from the popular Gaslamp Quarter. With summer right around the corner, I couldn’t wait to plan a family staycation at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, so we had a pre-summer getaway. I made plans to stay during my son’s birthday weekend so he could enjoy some relaxation by the pool and have dinner at a restaurant he had wanted to try, Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse. When we first arrived at the resort, we checked into our luxurious room that had beautiful panoramic views of San Diego. There was a small...

Frozen Live at the Hyperion Opens at Disney California Adventure Park

Posted by on May 27, 2016 in Disney, Featured, Theme Parks | 0 comments

We attended the premiere as a guest of Disney The highly anticipated time has come for “Frozen Live at the Hyperion” to debut to the world at the Hyperion Theatre at Disney California Adventure Park. The theatrical performance will immerse children and adults of all ages into the magical world of Arendelle. As I watched the magical performance, it felt like the story was being told for the very first time. The show isn’t just for girls, and production team had boys in mind when creating the show. There is a touch of comedy from the Duke of Weselton, loveable Olaf, and every boy’s favorite Frozen character, Sven. There is so much action, adventure and special effects that boys will fall in love with the show just as much as girls. It takes a crew of more than 200...

Best Beach in Mexico: Balandra Beach in La Paz

Posted by on May 25, 2016 in Featured, La Paz, Mexico, Travel | 1 comment

We visited as a guest of La Paz I have visited many beautiful beaches while traveling the world, but one beach clearly stood out to me as the most beautiful beach in the world, Balandra Beach. It was voted as one of the ten best beaches in Mexico by TripAdvisor, and it is clearly the #1 winner. Until visiting Balandra Beach in La Paz, Grace Bay beach in the Turks and Caicos was my favorite, but not anymore. Balandra Beach is unlike any other beach I have visited before. It is a perfectly shaped cove where visitors can walk for miles into the crystalline turquoise water without the water getting higher than your waistline. The best part – it is rarely crowded. While I was standing on the edge of sand looking at the water, the water would change...

Newsies The Musical is a Disney Theatrical Productions stage musical based on the 1992 musical film Newsies, which in turn was inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City.  Here are some images of what goes on before the show begins. The very talented and crafty Gillian Austin gave us the 411 on the wardrobes. Due to all the splits while dancing, nickers are the number one casualties of the show. The theme of the era is checkered material and wool. Luckily for the dancers they have three complete sets of outfits to...

Getting Prepared for Summer Camping

Posted by on Apr 21, 2016 in Camp, Family, Featured, Giveaways, Shopping, Staycation, Travel | 66 comments

Sponsored We have tried camping a couple of times with our children but was never able to have a successful camping trip because of being unprepared. We never invested in a proper tent, camping stove or camping light. The result was a terrible camping experience that left us not wanting to camp ever again. Well, as our kids have been getting older, they continually ask us if we can go on a family camping trip, so we made the commitment to purchase the proper camping supplies at Kohl’s, and give it another try. Kohl’s has a great selection of camping supplies from tents to stoves making it an easy one-stop shopping destination to prepare for our weekend camping trip. We invested in a really nice (and pretty) Coleman eight-person tent, a Coleman 3-in-1 propane camping stove, and a Coleman...

A Visual Masterpiece: The Jungle Book

We were invited as a guest to view an advanced 3-D screening of Disney’s The Jungle Book. When I told my daughter that we were asked to view an advanced screening of The Jungle Book, her squeals of delight made me very popular. The animated version of The Jungle Book has always been one of our favorites and we were both excited to see how Disney brought these lovable characters to life on the big screen. From the moment the movie opens, you are drawn into a realistic jungle with colorful animals jumping off of the screen into your lap. The Jungle Book follows the story of Mowgli, a “man cub” and finding his place within the jungle.  The film starts 10 years after Bagheera found Mowgli and had taken him to live with the wolf pack.  Bagheera has...
