Springtime Memories with the South Coast Plaza Easter Bunny

Posted by on Mar 26, 2018 in Easter, Events, Holiday | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Spring has sprung, and Easter bunnies all around are out and about visiting and taking photos with kids of all ages. Some bunnies can be a mix of cute and creepy, but the bunny at the South Coast Plaza is anything but that. This Bunny is amazing! My kids were in love with this bunny. When we got to the mall, we were invited to visit the Kids Atelier Store directly across from the carousel for a private event. They had some tasty treats, a balloon twister and a basket full of goodies for all the kiddos. My son loved the frog piggy bank that he received in his basket. There is a Springtime crafts cart that sells them and some other wooden things for kiddos to decorate for a fee...

Growing up Celebrating Easter at Irvine Park

Posted by on Apr 13, 2017 in Easter, Events, Holiday | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Spring is my favorite time of the year. I love the beautiful wildflowers along the side of the road, the time we get to spend with family, and the religious meaning of the Easter holiday. One of the best parts of springtime is getting to create memories that will last a lifetime with my children at the Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza. No matter how old my children get, they still love coming to the park, riding the train, playing the games, and getting into the Easter spirit. The event at Irvine Park Railroad keeps getting bigger and better every year. This year, we enjoyed it so much that we returned for the second day of springtime fun. When you first arrive at Irvine Park Railroad, you’ll want to register for...

Springtime Fun at Irvine Park Railroad’s Easter Eggstravaganza

We attended as guests of Irvine Park Railroad. Each year Spring is celebrated and Easter season in kicked off by the Easter Eggstravaganza held at Irvine Park Railroad.  This is THE event to be at as far as Easter in concerned in Orange County ,and my kiddos, ages one through six, thought it was an absolute ball! When you enter the parking lot at Irvine Regional Park dedicated to the Irvine Park Railroad, you pull up to a big tractor-pulled hay ride, which of course catches any toddler boy’s eye immediately, and you can view glimpses of the games and bounce houses lying just beyond the train in the grove area of the park. After you catch up with your kids (who all took off running for the fun), you can wonder around under the trees to the various booths...

DIY Leaf and Flower Print Easter Eggs

Posted by on Mar 31, 2015 in Crafts, Easter, Family, Holiday | 0 comments

The kids and I love spending time out exploring nature. Since we love nature, I wanted to try making leaf and flower print Easter eggs with them this year. Little did I know that it would be a full day adventure trying to figure out the easiest way to make the eggs, so I had to share the do’s and don’ts of making these beautiful decorative eggs with your kids this year. First we started by purchasing silk gift bags to put the eggs into the dye with the leaves and flowers. Unfortunately, the dye leaked under the leaves because the silk bags were not tight enough. So for round two, I used pantyhose, and it worked perfectly. When it comes to the dye, I always recommend making homemade dye if your kids are going to eat the eggs....

DIY Peeps Floral Arrangement

Springtime is full of beautiful blooming flowers and all the stores are stocked full of Peeps candies for Easter. I figured I would combine both to make a very easy DIY floral arrangement. This is something that takes little time to complete, so even a beginner crafter will be able to wow people with it. If you do not want to use the grass you can also use jellybeans or other little candies in the vase as a filler. The whole point in making crafts, is creating something that you like. Never worry about changing stuff to suit your style. I am a trial and error kind of crafter. I am always changing things up to fit my needs and likes. This is how I have created some of my favorite things. Supplies needed: 5 boxes of bunny shaped...

The magical floral masterpiece that caught my eye was a wagon fully decorated in flowers at the entrance to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree Arena where the Springtime Roundup is taking place. Focusing on the True Meaning of Easter with Children

My favorite season of the year is Spring. Everything is green and clean, flowers are blooming, that first hit of summer’s warmth usually shines through, but it’s not yet too hot to enjoy being outside without being submerged in water. It’s the perfect time of year. Also, I was married and had both of my children in Spring – all within two weeks of each other (different years of course!) so Spring is a party in this house! Another reason to celebrate in Spring is, naturally, Easter. Brightly colored eggs abound, there’s always a funny looking life-sized bunny somewhere to be found, families gathers for brunch, little girls don pretty pastel dresses and little boys might even clean up in slacks and a tie. But there’s more to Easter than just this. Christians are able to celebrate Easter because...

Recipe for Dying Easter Eggs Naturally

Two years ago, when I was a brand new Mama of two, in the same week that my three month old got diagnosed with some food sensitivities, my three year old got diagnosed with a food dye allergy. This came at the end of her having nine months of nearly consistent hives, and from our third allergist. While I’ve always prided myself on my families healthy eating habits – we were never the soda and Doritos type of family – needless to say, we couldn’t live with hives all the time, and I obviously didn’t want to constantly medicate my four year old with Zyrtec. With some subsequent research I found that, unfortunately, artificial (think: Red 40) and “natural” (think: annatto) food dye, both of which were causing these negative reactions in my daughter, are in much, much more...

Easter Egg Hunt for Children with Food Allergies

One of my favorite things about being a parent is the ability to be spontaneous. My older son dreads Easter egg hunts because of his severe food allergies. He runs around every Easter with his brother and sister collecting plastic eggs and then has to hand over all the treats. We have tried so many different ways to host an egg hunt over the years with toys, stickers and even coins, but it never has the same thrill for him until now. Last night I was spontaneous and decided to try something new, an Easter egg hunt for kids with food allergies, a night glow in the dark egg hunt! The idea came to mind when driving into Laguna Niguel yesterday for baseball and seeing a sign for a flashlight community egg hunt. I thought it was such a...

The Irvine Park Easter Eggstravaganza is happening now until March 30th. Everywhere your kids turn, there will be something more to explore. We have a fun family guide on what to expect when visiting the Irvine Park Easter Eggstravaganza this month. The Easter activities are on Saturdays and Sundays starting promptly at 9:30am, and the Wheel of Fun Bike rentals open at 10am. Our first recommendation is to visit the Easter Bunny first. Remember that it is a park, and the kids can get dirty quickly. I will never forget our visit last year when the kids started with the face painting, and my youngest son transformed his face into a skeleton (complete with gushing blood out of the forehead). It was not the most “Easter” friendly picture we have to remember our visit, but we giggle every time...
