We visited as a guest of Disneyland   Holiday’s at the Disneyland Resort is something my family has been celebrating since I was a child and it is one of those traditions that I will never get tired of experiencing. From the beautiful lights to the yummy treats at Disneyland, it is a magical way to celebrate the holidays. This year I went with my mom, and we got to experience the holidays just as they began. One of my favorite things every year at is the Disneyland Christmas tree. Every year at Disneyland they have the most fantastic tree that I could stare at for hours. This year I had the privilege of meeting some of the women who make the bows to decorate the tree along Main Street U.S.A. I had so much fun talking to them...

We visited as a guest of the venue Every year our family looks forward to celebrating the holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood. Our favorite part of the holiday celebration is getting to experience Grinchmas. The Grinch and all of his friends from Whoville have come to Los Angeles to celebrate the holiday season with your family. This year, I brought my daughter with me to Universal Studios Hollywood to experience Grinchmas. The minute that we left the parking structure, we were immersed in the Christmas spirit. The first thing that we noticed was the giant 40-foot tall Christmas tree that features 200,000 LED icicles! The tree sparkles every night, and the lights are choreographed to the sounds of the season – plus Santa also makes a special appearance too. As we walked through Universal CityWalk, we admired all the...

We attended the event as a guest of Knott’s We kicked off the holiday season this year at a very special tree lighting as Knott’s Berry Farm became transformed into Knott’s Merry Farm. The evening of the tree lighting, I picked up my daughter from school, and we went to Knott’s Berry Farm for a lovely mother and daughter night out. When we first arrived, we went to Santa’s Christmas Cabin to visit with Santa. My daughter sat next to Santa and whispered all her Christmas wishes into his ear. After visiting Santa, we walked around and did a little holiday shopping at the Christmas Crafts Village. Throughout Ghost Town are many vendors selling handmade crafts that make the perfect holiday gifts. Then the time had come for the giant tree located in the heart of Knott’s Berry Farm...

Teen Review: Ralph Breaks the Internet

Posted by on Nov 21, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I attended a preview as a guest of Disney When the first Wreck-It Ralph came to theaters, I absolutely loved it! My dad and I fell in love with the movie and all the cute and fun characters. We have been waiting for Ralph Breaks the Internet for a long while, and I couldn’t wait to watch the film, so when my mom told me that we were going to go see an early screener in LA, I was counting down the days until I could see the new film. When I sat down to watch the movie the first thing I thought about was all of the trailers I had watched before seeing the film and thinking back to what I was about to watch on the big screen. I gave my brain a quick refresher, and then...

Bringing Ralph Breaks the Internet to Life

Posted by on Nov 19, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I attended the event as a guest of Disney In anticipation of the upcoming film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, coming out in theaters on Friday, I went to Los Angeles earlier this month to talk with the cast about the making of the film. When the cast of Ralph Breaks the Internet walked into the room, everyone cheered with excitement. We started by talking about how the last film took place six years ago, and everything seemed to have ended really great for Ralph and Vanellope, so why make another film? Rich Moore (Director) said, “We looked at the very last line of the first movie where Ralph says, after going friendless for the whole movie and then finally making a friend. He’s back home and says, ‘if that little kid likes me, how bad can I be?’ And...

Universal Studios Hollywood ‘Day of Giving’

Posted by on Nov 17, 2018 in Events, Theme Parks, Universal Studios Hollywood | 0 comments

The one thing that I love the most about Universal Studios Hollywood is their commitment to giving back to our community. In celebration of November, the month of giving, Universal Studios Hollywood recently hosted a “Day of Giving.” At the beautiful event, employees of Universal Studios Hollywood volunteered their time to make a difference in many young kids lives. This year was the 14th annual “Day of Giving” where hundreds of Universal Studios Hollywood employees volunteered their time for this noteworthy cause. There were six different volunteer locations, where they hosted “Operation School Bell,” that hosed nearly 300 homeless children from over 50 LAUSD elementary schools. The children were treated to a variety of back to school needs, including new clothing, sneakers, and school supplies, followed by an afternoon of fun at Universal Studios Hollywood. The family is based in the 1970’s, so as you can imagine the set is a very tight house with certain things you would see in an older home. Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in “Toy Story 4,” welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. “Like most people, I assumed that ‘Toy Story 3’ was the end of the story,” said director Josh Cooley. “And it was the end of Woody’s story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.” A teaser trailer slated to debut with “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” in theaters Nov. 21, is available today. Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Teen Review

The Nutcracker is a timeless tale that everybody loves! One big twist on the film is that it is not based on the theatre performance, but on the book! Before going to see the movie with my little brother, I read the children’s book and painted my nails with the new OPI Nutcracker collection, just to put me in the holiday mood. My little brother and I were super excited for this movie because we both have our own love for Nutcracker story, and know the original story by heart. Sponsored I don’t know about you, but game nights are my favorite kind of nights, especially when game nights are based on one of the best movies. Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film was one of my families favorite Star Wars movies. After hearing that the movie was coming to DVD and BluRay, my brothers and I decided to have a game night, but make it Solo themed. When we were done with playing the game, we would go inside and watch the movie. We first started setting up by taking the Han Solo Monopoly game board and set it up outside on a blanket. We then threw some comfy Chewbacca blankets and pillows to make the space even more comfortable. We then waited for the sun to set and began our family game night. My little brother...

I visited as a guest of Disney One of our family’s favorite things to do when visiting the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time is to taste all of the sweet treats that can be found throughout the park. This year, it is all about the churros with there being seven different flavors of churros (plus churro sundaes) for your family to enjoy during while visiting the Disneyland Resort. While at the Disneyland Resort last week, our family embarked on a delicious journey of trying all the different churro flavors. We started at the Disneyland Park at the Golden Horseshoe by tasting the churro sundae. It was the best sundae I have ever devoured, and I enjoyed it so much that I went back for seconds. The dessert featured hand-scooped vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, cookie dough, and a warm...

I attended the event as a guest of Disney In celebration of the home release of the film SOLO: A Star Wars Story, I went to Los Angeles to have lunch with Chewbacca and get some lightsaber training from the voice of Darth Maul, Ray Park. Ray Park entered the room holding the same lightsaber that he used when filming SOLO: A Star Wars Story. It was one of the biggest lightsabers that I have ever seen, and he immediately started showing all of us some of his tricks. After giving us an interactive demo on how to use a lightsaber, he invited all of us to try doing some tricks with his lightsaber. I quickly learned that I do not have the skills needed to be a Jedi, but Park took his time to teach me at least...

Creating the Internet World in Ralph Breaks the Internet

Posted by on Sep 20, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney The upcoming film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, starts just where the story left off in Wreck it Ralph. The big difference between this film vs. the first is that most of the film takes place “in” the internet. Now, the internet is not an actual “place” that the creators of the film could visit to recreate for the film, and they had to use their imagination to create the magical world of the internet in Ralph Breaks the Internet. Earlier this month, I had the honor of talking with Matthias Lechner (art director, environments), Larry Wu(head of environments) and Ernie Petti (technical supervisor) about how they created the complex metropolis – the internet. In this film there are some sets from the first movie, there are real-world sets, some that...

Finding Your Way Home with Christopher Robin

Posted by on Aug 3, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 1 comment

I attended a screening as a guest of Disney Have you ever felt lost? Alone? Forgotten? It has been a feeling that I have been experiencing a lot this year, and why when I saw Christopher Robin, as an adult feeling lost, it made the movie so relatable to my current life situation. In the movie, Christopher Robin finds himself working so hard, not having enough time to spend with his wife and daughter, and struggling to find balance – and happiness. Meanwhile, back in the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie-the-Pooh awakes from his slumber to find that the once sunny Hundred Acre Wood was now gloomy, dark, and he was all alone. I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible with my friends and family, and trying to avoid that dark and painful feeling of being alone....

And Kanga and little Roo. There’s Rabbit. and Piglet And there’s Owl But most of...

I attended a screening as a guest of Disney When the first Ant-Man movie came out, my brothers and I were so excited for a new Marvel character that we already knew we were going to love it. I watched it for the first time and immediately fell in love with the ant-sized superhero. When I started seeing the previews for Ant-Man and The Wasp I was so excited to see where the old movie left off. There are three reasons why I enjoyed this sequel so much. Number 1: The movie is so close to reality that it was so easy to understand and fun to watch. Most other superhero movies take place in a completely different setting than the modern world, so it’s effortless to connect with the things that are happening in the film. A majority...

We attended the event as a guest of Disney Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fantastic sequel to the first Ant-Man movie and a must-see for all parents and children. I recently had the privilege of going to Pasadena and speaking with the cast of the new film, and I can assure you they had a lot of fun things to say. One of my favorite features of the movie was all the comedy and how much I laughed during the film. Even during the serious parts someone almost always said something to lighten the mood. The cast made me laugh once more when Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp) said about Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) who helped write the script, “His best lines in the movie are not on the script.” Knowing that not all of the comedic lines weren’t scripted...

Our family was going to attend a pirate party after dinner, so we arrived at the palace in our favorite pirate attire, ready for a delicious dining experience. My children were the most excited to see our servers again, Sudarmaji and Vinay. They treated my children so wonderfully and would perform magic tricks for them. They even knew what my kids favorite foods were after just one night and made some excellent recommendations for them. For the appetizers, I started with the iced lobster and jumbo shrimp. The dish was simple, yet flavorful. It was the perfect prelude to my main course. And, while I...

A Wrinkle in Time will Inspire and Empower Girls

We attended a screening/interview as a guest of Disney I am an Iranian-American. I was born in Iran and immigrated to America right around the Iran hostage crisis.  It was hard having a name like mine, look the way I did, feeling the way I did.  I was different and different was bad.  With few friends, I turned to books and movies to past the time.  From that my love of fantasy rose as did my hope that one day if I ever had children they would not go through what I did, that somehow a person who is different is as accepted as one who is considered the norm.  As an Iranian-American woman, I have sat back quietly watching as history-making events have unfolded before me.  From the Woman’s March to the Me Too movement, history is being made...

We visited as a guest of the venue We had the opportunity to attend as a guest of The Honda Center to watch Disney on Ice “Follow Your Heart,” and the show did not disappoint. Disney on Ice outdid themselves with this exhilarating performance. My three kids were pretty much in awe for the entire 2-hours (4-year-old, 2-year-old, and 3-month-old). The show started with the characters in a scene from the movie Inside Out and then moved to the grand entrance of Disney’s favorites Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. The minute this happened, the crowd cheered loudly when they appeared on the Ice. Following the entrance of Disney’s favorites, they featured the story of Beauty and the Beast. My kiddos went crazy for this, as this is one of their favorite movies! The costumes and performances were on point...

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Family Movie Night

Posted by on Dec 21, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored One of our favorite family traditions is to sit by the fire, sipping on hot cocoa and watching holiday movies together. With Olaf’s Frozen Adventure being all about family traditions, I planned a recent family holiday movie night for the evening that the movie was digitally released on Movies Anywhere. The night of our movie night, my kids got all dressed in their favorite Christmas pajamas. When my children came downstairs, I had a special box wrapped by the Christmas tree for them to open. Inside of the box were fun items themed after the animated Disney short. There was a small fruitcake (my favorite scene in the film), cookies, a mini Olaf plus, a dreidel, and a card inviting them to watch Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Our kids were so excited, and it was one of the most...

Winter Wonderfest: A Perfect Way to Keep Cool This Hot Holiday Season

We visited as a guest of the venue Oh, the weather outside is frightfully hot with the record-breaking heat this holiday season which means my plans for snow play up in the mountains during the holidays has been postponed.  Thank goodness for the Discovery Cube OC’s Winter Wonderfest!  You read it right…snow is coming to Orange County.  Year after year the Discovery Cube OC brings joy, snow, and fun to children and adults. To experience tubing down a huge 75-foot ramp, sledding, and playing in real snow you need three important things.  1. Warmish jacket. It may be in the high 70’s but baby it gets cold outside next to the ice.  2. Gloves!!! Any kind of gloves would do, but I highly recommend waterproof ones so that your fingers don’t freeze from making snowmen and throwing snowballs. 3....

In the movie, Miguel wants to claim his destiny and tell his family that he is going to play music, and then everything goes wrong. When creating the music, they looked at it in three different ways: 1. They talked about source music. Ernesto de la Cruz lived in Santo de Cilia, and all the musicians come to pay tribute to him 2. Score. To hold up the emotion of the film. They explored the environment, motivation of the character in the film. 3. Original songs created for the film.
