Posted by on Aug 18, 2017 in Disney, Florida, Travel, Walt Disney World | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of Disney In celebration of the classic Disney film The Lion King coming out of the Disney vault, I went to the Walt Disney World Resort to be immersed into the magical world in which Timon, Simba, and Pumbaa live. During my trip, most of my time was spent at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and one of my favorite things that I did while exploring the theme park was watching the interactive production of Festival of the Lion King. During the performance, the film beautifully came to life. There was music, dancing, and all of our favorite Lion King characters. One of my favorite parts of the performance was when a dancer came out onto the stage and spun a wheel of real fire. He did many tricks with the fire and even breathed a...

We visited as a guest of Disney Walt Disney Wold Resort isn’t just for kids, but moms too. As moms, we work hard all year long, and when I was invited to spend a couple of days away from the family at the Walt Disney World Resort to learn about the film “Zootopia,” how could I refuse? On the last day of the press trip, we were given some free time to explore the Magic Kingdom Theme Park and enjoy a much need break from carpool, diapers, and dishes. I had an epic day with two of my favorite colleagues at the Magic Kingdom Theme Park. We started our day by flying high over the theme park on the Dumbo attraction. As I soared high in the air and had the wind on my face, I took a moment...

We visited as a guest of Disney The force is strong at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where families are immersed in the world of Star Wars. While at the Walt Disney World Resort for the Zootopia press event, I put on my favorite Star Wars shirt and headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience the fun. Star Wars Launch Bay With a similar set-up to the Star Wars Launch Bay at The Disneyland Resort, the Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some different artifacts for fans to see. The launch bay is the perfect place for fans to learn about Star Wars and see artifacts that can’t be seen anywhere else. The best part about visiting the Star Wars Launch Bay is that families have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a photo with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren! Star Wars...

Posted by on Apr 8, 2014 in Featured, Florida, Theme Parks, Travel | 0 comments

The last time I was in Florida was 16 years ago – and while many things have stayed the same, there are a lot of attractions that have been added in the past decade and a half. So, when I recently went to Florida for a girls’ trip we decided we needed to check out Universal Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure is part of the Universal Florida resort that also includes Universal Studios, Universal City Walk and the nearby water park Wet N Wild Orlando. Islands of Adventure is the ultimate theme park for a family or even a group of friends. Organized in themed “islands” visitors can experience  cutting edge rides, shows and interactive attractions that will bring your favorite stories, myths, cartoons, comic book heroes and children’s tales to life. Seuss Landing is an adorable experience for...

Experience the Chevrolet Test Track at Epcot #DisneySMMoms

Posted by on May 28, 2013 in Disney, Florida, Travel | 0 comments

Earlier this month, our family traveled to Walt Disney World to enjoy the Disney Social Media Moms Conference and extended our trip to make it a full family vacation.  When we visited Walt Disney World in 2012, the Chevrolet Test Track was closed for its redesign.  The kids were so excited to have the chance to experience it this year since it reopened. We had a chance to sit down with Teckla Rhoads, Director of GM Global Industrial Design at the 2012 LA Auto Show to learn about the design of this attraction.  As a Disney fan, it was fascinating to hear how heavily the GM Design and Walt Disney Imagineering teams collaborated to bring this attraction to life.  Two worlds truly came together to bring a first of its kind automotive experience to fruition for guests and it was exciting...

Posted by on May 27, 2013 in Disney, Florida, Travel | 0 comments

While staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we had an amazing week filled with fun and magical memories.  After a few days focused on the entertainment and fun offered  at the Disney Parks, it was time for some relaxation for the entire family. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is located on Bay Lake, which is also bordered by Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, as well as Disney’s Bay Lake Tower and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Villas, both of which are Disney Vacation Club properties. For less than $100, we rented a pontoon boat for an hour and experienced a wonderful afternoon as a family.  All three resorts on Bay Lake have a marina which offers boat rentals to guests. Transportation boats run regularly between all the resorts on Bay Lake making it easy for guests to get back and forth....

Five Ways to Make Homeschooling Fun While on Summer Vacation #DisneySMmoms

Posted by on May 17, 2013 in Disney, Family, Featured, Florida, Travel | 0 comments

“We’re on vacation, so the kids can take a break from school.” Yes, we all feel this way, but it is so important for your child’s development to keep them engaged and learning year round. Our children’s brains grow the most during their first years of life, with 85% of it developing by the age of four. While on vacation last week at Disney World, I made homeschooling fun for my kids while on summer vacation with these fun activities. Invite the children to send postcards to their friends and family. Your children will not even realize that they are working on their fine motor, language and grammar skills by doing this fun summer activity. Sit down with your children, and talk to them about sentence structure, grammar, and other letter writing skills. You will be teaching your children...

Photo Tour of The Cinderella Castle Suite in Cinderella’s Castle #DisneySMMoms

Posted by on May 15, 2013 in Disney, Featured, Florida, Travel | 34 comments

The Cinderella Castle Suite. A rare experience that few people get to enjoy in life. Celebrities cannot buy their way in… it can only be won…of gifted from the Disney family. The castle suite that our sweet six year old daughter asked me about only a day before we flew to Florida for the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. “Mama, can we sleep in Cinderella’s Castle?” “No, lovey, only very few special people get to sleep there. Mommy and Daddy couldn’t even buy it for you if we wanted to.” I knew magical moments happened at Disney, but to think that only three days later I would win the Grand Prize at our conference and receive the most prized gift…a night’s stay in The Cinderella Castle Suite. Well, it truly is what dreams are made of. My hope is...

Posted by on May 8, 2013 in Disney, Featured, Florida, Travel, Uncategorized | 1 comment

Today, Amy and I traveled across the country along with our families to Walt Disney World to attend the Disney Social Media Moms #DisneySMmoms Conference. With our Mickey ears on, we woke-up early to catch flights out of our LAX and John Wayne Airport. As we boarded the two different planes, both of our families were eager with anticipation of what the next couple of days would hold for all of us. Although, we know about some of the plans for the event, some of the activities have remained a surprise, just adding to the magic. Once our planes arrived in Florida, we were both surrounded with immense beauty. Everything was green, lush and beautiful. As the Mickey Magical Express brought our families into Disney World, our families could feel the magic surrounding us. We boarded the Mickey Magical...

Easiest Way to Pack Kids for Summer Vacation #DisneySMmoms

Posted by on May 7, 2013 in Disney, Featured, Florida, Travel, Uncategorized | 4 comments

Every summer we plan our summer vacation, and it always ends up the same. When we first arrive at the hotel room, the kids start ravaging through their suitcases in search of clothes to wear for the day. By mid vacation, it is nearly impossible to find an outfit for the kids that will match, and we can hardly tell which clothes are clean vs. dirty. Today I was getting ready to pack for our family vacation to Walt Disney World, and planned a different system that would end up being the easiest way to pack my kids for their summer vacation. Instead of rolling all their clothes into small piles hoping that they would stay together in the suitcase, I sealed each outfit into a gallon size Ziploc bag. (This also helped me from my traditional habit of...
