Chas Chas Latin Kitchen Review

Set in a quaint shopping district of beautiful downtown Brea, there is a Latin Restaurant called Cha Cha’s that will have your taste buds doing the mambo. I recently dined here for their Sunday Brunch and I was so impressed! When you first walk in you can’t help but hear the fun flamenco music that is playing. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful colors on the wall. Lots of yellows and orange gave this restaurant a really upbeat vibe. The glass in the top portion of the windows are yellow and it gives off this gorgeous hue that just fills the restaurant.


Owner Don Myers was there on this particular day and you can tell how proud this gentleman is of the food he serves! We started off with my favorite, chips and guacamole! The chips were salted to perfection and the guacamole was incredibly fresh and just the right texture. It even had a hint of Serrano chile in it.  Don doesn’t like you to be without a drink though, so he ordered me the house specialty, a frozen Mojito.


This was by far the best Mojito I have ever had. It was like a mix between a slurpee and a really fine cocktail. It packed just the right amount of punch with Myer’s Platinum Rum and was nicely accentuated with mint and a slice of lime.

Cha Cha' s Carnitas

For my main entree I opted to try something I don’t typically eat and ordered the Carnitas.  I was really glad I branched out because this slow braised and marinated pork was really delicious. It came with a side of black beans, rice and tortillas. Prior to my meal I had a Ceasar salad that was also very tasty and lite.


My friend that accompanied me ordered the Chorizo Scramble ‘Souffle’. It was Fresh chorizo sauteed, baked with Yukon Gold potatoes, green chiles, Mexican cheeses, fresh eggs and baked in a wood-fired brick oven. As you can see in the picture it was unbelievably delicious and a lot of effort goes into making this unique dish.


For dessert we sampled the house Flan served with a side of sugar cookies and fresh whipped cream, and we also tried the Chocolate Banana “Taquitos”. These Crisp taquitos are filled with dark chocolate, bananas and toasted pecans, and  served with cajeta sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. They tasted very similar to a crepe.

Stop in and experience this energetic restaurant. The Latin Lounge features Live Music on Thursday , Friday , Saturday and Sunday and also has patio seating for those who want a quieter setting.

    Is is always fun to create great dining experiences for those that truly enjoy a great meal with good friends.
    You are right; everyone that comes to dine at Cha Cha’s must imbide with our fabulous Margaritas and all of our other Signature Cockttails.
    We use only fresh juices, House-made sour mixes, 100% Blue Agave Tequilas and great infusions that create a drinking experience that matches the cuisine for its distinction and quality.
