Chocolate Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe – OC Mom Blog
What would Halloween be without a delicious sweet treat? Just in time for our family Halloween celebration, I made this delicious chocolate peanut butter trifle. It is sweet, delicious and perfect to serve at your upcoming Halloween party…and guaranteed to satisfy every guests sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist Triple Chocolate Durge Cake Mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 cup coffee
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
4 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
12 chocolate peanut butter Oreo cookies (crumbled)
1 bag of Reese’s pieces
1 bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped into small pieces
Chocolate Cake
Directions:
- With electric mixer, mix 3 eggs, 1/3 cup melted butter, 1 1/4 cup coffee and chocolate cake mix.
- After it is mixed stir in 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Split batter into 2 cake pans.
- Make sure cake pans are buttered.
- Bake according to directions on cake mix box. (Roughly 22 minutes)
- After cake is done, cool cake down in refrigerator.
- While cake is baking, make peanut butter filling.
- Peanut Butter Cream Filling
- Mix with electric mixer 1 1/2 cups peanut butter with 2 cups whipping cream and 1/4 cup powered sugar.
- Beat mixture until thick.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In another bowl mix the remaining 2 cups whipping cream, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 1/4 cup powered sugar.
- Mix until think and soft peaks are created.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Crumble 12 Peanut Butter Oreo Cookies by pounding them with a roller.
- Now layer.
- Starting with chocolate cake, then peanut butter filling mixture, 1/3 bag of peanut butter cups chopped, 1/3 Reese’s, 1/3 of chocolate peanut butter Oreo cookies (crumbled)and repeat . The final layer you will add whipped cream after the Peanut Butter Filling.
- Finish off with remaining Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Pieces.
- Refrigerate before serving
