Cirque du Soleil Totem is Coming to the Orange County Great Park

The highly anticipated arrival of Cirque du Soleil Totem is coming to the Orange County Great Park this week. Last week, we went to see a performance of Totem in Los Angeles to find out exactly what families can expect when bringing their children to see the Orange County performance.

The site has taken eight days to set-up after 65 trailers transported the 1,200 tons of equipment from Los Angeles to Orange County. The 66 foot tall big top, will be ready to seat its first 2,600 guests starting on November 21st, at The Orange County Great Park.

Totem is a fascinating journey into the evolution of mankind under a giant blue and yellow big top circus tent. When we first took our seats inside of the giant big top, the cast of the show came right up and started interacting with us in the audience. As the lights started to dim, we were swept into a magical world from the moment the crystal man came spinning down from up above.

The family-friendly performance will bring families on a visual journey featuring evolutionary acrobatics, spectacular light shows and dancing. One of the most spectacular acts during the show, was when the five unicyclists started juggling metal bowls on their heads, while using their strength and balance in a perfectly coordinated performance.

Your children will be entranced by The Amerindian Dancers who perform an evolutionary performance with rings, the high-flying Bollywood-inspired acrobatic show, the Native American roller skate act performed on just a 1.8 meter drum, and more.

Tickets are currently available online  including a new behind the scenes package. With the behind-the-scenes package, guests can experience an insiders’ look that includes a private excursion to visit the backstage, and a meet and greet with the artists after the show.

The Orange County Great Park is located at Sand Canyon and Marine Way and can easily be reached by the 5 or 405 freeways.
