Cream Cheese Wonton Recipe – OC Mom Blog

Whenever I find myself with the “Monday Blues” a fresh batch of cream cheese wonton always seems to brighten my mood. It has been my favorite comfort food for years, and my kids love it because they can easily help make the tasty appetizer. Whether looking for a quick and easy appetizer for your next dinner party or just a quick “comforting” snack, this cream cheese wonton recipe is sure to do the trick.

They are easy to make as 1-2-3. Encourage the kids to help with folding the wonton and sealing the edges with water. They will love every minute of helping to make these delicious appetizers.


  • 1 package of wonton wrappers
  • 1 package of whipped cream cheese
  • 1 small bowl of water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2-3 paper towels
  • (optional chives)


On your kitchen counter, lay-out the wonton wrappers

  • Seal the edges with water (using your finger brush a small amount of water around the edges to seal the wonton)
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat
  • All the wontons, and fry lightly for 2-3 minutes on each side
  • Let the wonton cool on a paper towel
  • Optional: if you want some added flavor, mix some chives with the cream cheese
  • Enjoy!
