Creative Inspiration from Sesame Street Artist Barry Goldberg at Beaches Turks and Caicos

My mom attended the Beaches Social Media on the Sand Conference

When I stayed at Beaches Turks and Caicos on of the things I noticed was the creative chalk Sesame Street characters on the sidewalk. While I was walking around the resort with my mom, I saw the artist drawing amazing Sesame Street characters. What are the odds of that? Totally seeing a famous Sesame Street artist drawing on the sidewalk of a Beaches Resort! I walked over, and he asked me if I wanted to help? I was like ” I’d love to.” I got to work while other kids joined and started drawing Sesame Street characters too.

When I got home, I found out that his name was Barry Goldberg, and he is a Sesame Street artist. A real famous artist. He is an illustrator for Sesame Beginnings and Bear in the Big Blue House books. Barry has also done illustrations for Sesame Street magazine, some Sesame Street beginning books like Cookie see; Cookie do and Cookie Kisses. Barry also carved Sesame Street themed sand sculptures at the resort.

I had a lot of fun drawing Sesame Street characters on the sidewalk with him! I love to draw, and that is why it was so fun for me. I feel that doing this activity with him was one of my favorite things I did while I stayed at Beaches Turks and Caicos.

I couldn’t have been more excited when I was done drawing the Sesame Street characters with chalk I was so proud of myself. I thought to myself how honored I was to be with a real Sesame Street character artist and drawing a Sesame Street character with him. It was a moment that I’ll never forget, and he inspired me to work hard in school, and maybe become a famous artist just like him someday.

  1. Awesome! So glad your mom took pictures because I didn’t have mine on me! That’s my Charlie in red! This was one of the coolest things we did.
