“Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly” Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade will Dazzle!

We attended as a guest of Newport Beach

If you really want to experience a Christmas tradition here locally, head out to the 106th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. We attended on its launch of December 17th; it will run through December 21st.

This year’s theme is “Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly” and the Grand Marshals are Newport Beach natives Leslie Mann & Mark McGrath. After seeing some of the participants and their incredibly lit boats of whimsy, it’s highly suggested to bundle up, grab a cozy blanket with snacks and head out with the family, kids and friends.

It’s truly a magical time in the harbor with 14 miles full of numerous venues; waterfront restaurants, dining cruises, homes, public docks and beaches to take in the lights of the holiday. Keep your eye out for the enormous inflatable Santa on one boat, another favorite a boat with snowflakes that look as though they are falling down from the sky, you’ll see sleighs with reindeer and so many sparkly twinkly lights reflecting on the waterfront.

A special treat, in addition to the parade on Sunday night will be a fireworks show at approximately 9 pm off of Balboa Pier. So bundle up and head out to take in a long-standing holiday tradition here in Newport Beach; you’ll be surrounded by tremendous holiday cheer during the night full of lots of dazzling lights!

The event is taking place from December 17th thru December 21, 2014 from 6:30 – 9 pm.
