Desert SUNcation at Welk Resorts Palm Springs

Winter is the perfect time to escape to the desert for a little sun ‘cation at the Welk Resorts Palm Springs. The resort is one of our favorite family destinations because of the large rooms and family-friendly amenities. Recently, our family visited the resort (during covid) and had a safe, and enjoyable weekend getaway.

When looking for a place to get away with your family, it is crucial to select a resort that makes safety their number one priority. From the check-in process to cleaning procedures, Welk Resorts is our top choice when traveling with our family during these uncertain times.

Checking into our room was seamless. The lobby limits the number of people allowed in at one time, and there were plexiglass dividers between me and the receptionist. I checked-in, got my keys and was relaxing in our room within minutes.

Family Room at Welk Resorts Palm Springs

When it comes to the rooms, there is nothing better. There is plenty of space for large families like mine. The best part is that there are full kitchens so that your family can prepare all of your meals in your room for added safety. Plus, there are barbecues around the property for those who wish to grill up some burgers or steaks.

Patio at Welk Resorts Palm Springs

Our room featured a beautiful view of the golf course and had a large patio. Our family spent the morning playing board games on the patio while watching the golfers play on the grass below. In the evenings, we sipped on a cup of tea while basking in the beautiful desert sunsets.

Pool at Welk Resorts Palm Springs

The pool is a concern for most families, and the pool at the Welk Resorts Palm Springs felt very safe to me. There was not a lot of people, the chairs were all perfectly distanced to encourage social distancing. Plus, there is an adult pool for when the parents need a little quiet time. If your kids want a little snack, there is a snack bar at the resort that has some of the best Mexican food in town. I highly recommend getting a little taste of their nachos.

My favorite thing about the resort was enjoying our time walking around the beautiful grounds. It is a picture-perfect resort and the desert views are unforgettable. We took one afternoon and went exploring Joshua Tree. There we were able to explore some unique art exhibits, have lunch, and walk around the fun town. One our second day, we took at hike at the desert oasis in Andreas Canyon.
