“Duck the Halls” Holiday Events

November 20th kicked off the holiday season when The Tustin Marketplace hosted the Anaheim Ducks’ Official Watch Party. Thursday was one of 5 events being held at the Marketplace that help make up what the hockey franchise is calling “Duck the Halls”.

The night began with a tree lighting ceremony to light the three Ducks-themed trees located at the Marketplace. Special guest, Teemu Selanne, had the honor of lighting the trees. Selanne retired last year after 21 seasons in the NHL, 13+ of which were with the Ducks. Selanne, always a fan-favorite, had a large gathering of fans surrounding him from when he arrived until he left.

After the trees were lit, fans got to watch the night’s game outside while they enjoyed a beautiful Orange County evening. The game was played on two LED screens set up in The Market Place’s Edwards Theater Courtyard. The night proved even more beautiful when the Ducks prevailed in a 4-3 shootout win against the division-rival Vancouver Canucks.

There were other guests on hand to help host the event and keep fans entertained including the Anaheim Ducks Street Team and Power Players, Ducks PA announcer Phil Hullet, and Ducks mascot Wild Wing.

One of my favorite parts of the night was when two young sisters sang their own hockey-themed rendition of “Deck the Halls”. The event brought people of all ages and filled them with holiday spirit. It was a magical night filled with twinkling lights and Ducks hockey.

Jaime was born and raised in Southern Orange County and currently lives in Rancho Santa Margarita with her family. She has two amazing children and an adorable Frenchton. Her family keeps her on her toes or maybe it’s the other way around. She loves experiencing life through the eyes of her children, rather it be a new adventure or one of her childhood memories. In her downtime ( wink wink) you can find her on Pinterest searching for the next recipe she’s going to make or planning their next family adventure. She loves staying active in her kids lives rather it be volunteering at their school or for their sports teams. You should see her throw a football 🙂
