El Arrayán Cocina Mexicana in Puerto Vallarta

We dined as a guest of the venue

El Arrayán in PV

When looking for an authentic traditional Cocina Mexicana in Puerto Vallarta, El Arrayán is guaranteed to exceed your expectations. While staying at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa the concierge recommended El Arrayán for dinner, and helped us to make reservations.

When we arrived at the local restaurant, I was immediately in love with the decor. The restaurant was decorated with bright, vibrant colors, and the staff made us feel at home while dining at their restaurant. Since we were traveling during restaurant week, we both ordered off the pre fixe menu.

We started our meal with freshly made chips and a variety of different salsas. We savored the flavors of the various salsas while looking over their menu. Everything on the menu was making my mouth water, and it was hard to make a decision.

My daughter ordered the Oaxacan Tetelas for her appetizer. The dish featured corn dough filled with beans, mole, and cheese. It was authentic, delicious, and she savored every bite. Since I have a love for ceviche, I couldn’t resist starting my dinner with some fresh fish. Their ceviche was prepared with orange juice, guajillo chile, and a cilantro mayonnaise.

I continued to order fish since the ceviche was so incredible, and selected the Achiote boneless fish fillet with rice and stewed beans. The dish came with the most beautiful presentation and bursted with flavor.

While I was enjoying every bite of the fish, my daughter had the Adobo Pork Tamale that came wrapped in a banana leaf. The tamale was the best tamale that she had ever had, and she still talks about how amazing it was to this day.

Dinner just continued to get better with every bite, and we ended it with a bang with their delectable desserts. My daughter went for the more traditional dessert by selecting the flan while I tried something a little different and ordered the tequila-lime layer cake. Both of the desserts didn’t disappoint and was the perfect ending to our dinner at El Arrayán.

We ended the day by walking down to the Malecón to watch the sunset before returning to CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa for the night. El Arrayán is located at Calle Allende 344, Centro, 48351 Puerto Vallarta, Jal., Mexico.
