Epic Family Staycation at The Pacific Edge Hotel
We stayed as a guest of the venue
It has been a couple of years since we last had a family getaway to the Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach, and when I noticed the temperatures were getting warmer, I immediately jumped at the chance to stay near the beach for the weekend. The weather was perfect, the hotel was plush, the food was incredible, which made our weekend one of the best family staycations that we have had in a long time.
We arrived on a Friday evening after the kids were done with school, and my husband was done with work. We checked into our room just in time to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Pacific ocean. The kids squealed with delight while watching dolphins jumping in the waves while the sun slowly disappeared on the horizon. We took our shoes off and walked down to the beach for an evening walk before dinner. Our family bond became stronger than ever before as my husband, and I walked hand in hand while talking about our week with the kids splashing their toes in the water.
Before returning to our room for the evening, we walked next door to Driftwood Kitchen for dinner. My husband sunk his taste buds into a juicy steak while I enjoyed fresh seafood for the evening. Together we sipped on a glass of wine while the children were reading their books. The ambiance and the cuisine at Driftwood are the best in Laguna Beach and the perfect way to start a family staycation at the Pacific Edge Hotel.
With our heart full of love, we drifted off to sleep with the sound of crashing ocean waves and awoke to the sound of seagulls flying in the fresh morning air.
In the morning, we walked down the street for an early breakfast at the favorite local hot spot, The Orange Inn. The kids devoured their french toast and eggs while watching the cars pass by out the window. The Orange Inn is well known for having the best coffee in Orange County, and I cannot disagree with their claim at all.
Once we were done with breakfast, we walked down to the beach where there were comfortable beach chairs and an umbrella waiting us to use for the day. There is not a better way to go to the beach than to have your own personal beach chairs complete with cushions and clean towels. It takes all the hard work out of planning a beach day with the family. The Pacific Edge even had sand toys and boogie boards for the kids to use throughout the day to help to make it easier for them to create unforgettable memories.
My husband and I spent the entire day taking turns relaxing on the beach chairs while the kids went to the pool and ocean to swim. They didn’t stop enjoying the facilities and the beautiful beach at the resort until dinner time when it was time to go home.
The moment that we buckled the kids into their seatbelts to drive home, they fell right to sleep in the car. The Pacific Edge Hotel is one of our favorite places to have a family staycation in Orange County. Book your next seaside staycation online.
