At Eternity’s Gate: A Magical Masterpiece

We received a complimentary copy of At Eternity’s Gate

Art is something very special for my family. Since my children were toddlers, I had them painting and expressing themselves through the arts. To this day, two of them are teenagers and attend one of the most highly-acclaimed arts schools in Southern California.

Along with expressing themselves through art, it is also essential for me to educate them on past artists. When I learned about the upcoming release of the film At Eternity’s Gate, I could not wait to see it with my children. The film tells the story of the final years of Vincent van Gogh.

Painting of Shelby Barone

When gifted the movie, I was thrilled to receive a beautiful hand painting of myself. Plus, we also got some tasty (and beautiful) cookies to enjoy while watching the movie. I had the painting hung on the wall in our living room for my family to enjoy for years to come.

Julian Schnabel’s At Eternity’s Gate is a journey inside the world and mind of a person who, despite skepticism, ridicule, and illness, created some of the world’s most beloved and stunning works of art. This is not a forensic biography, but rather scenes based on Vincent van Gogh’s letters, common agreement about events in his life that present as facts, hearsay, and moments that are just plain invented.
