Join OC Parks’ trained staff on an easy 1.1-mile hike to the park’s Coastal Redwood grove. You will use your 5 senses to engage with nature as you stroll to the Redwoods. You will also have an opportunity to learn about our native plants along the way. The hike begins at the park’s Nature Center located at east end of the park and runs 9:30am – 11am. Don’t forget to visit our Nature Center when you are there, too! Hike is free but parking is $5. All ages welcome. Reservations are preferred, please call (714) 973-3160 or e-mail [email protected]

Led by Laguna Canyon Foundation in partnership with OC Parks. Join Resource Specialist Laura Cohen and play wildlife bingo to win a Mother’s Day prize for your mom as you hike 2 miles (400-ft. elevation gain) over sometimes steep and uneven terrain to the top of Little Sycamore. Walk runs 10am – 12pm and minimum age is 6. Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Rd/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of I-5/405). Farmer’s Market – Come to the OC Great Park Farmer’s Market from 10am to 2pm (rain or shine). There will be music, food trucks and lots of local vendors selling fresh produce. Free parking and admission. On the second Sunday of each month, Clinic in the Park connects children and their families to medical and dental resources, provides application assistance for low cost insurance, developmental health screenings for children, community resource referrals and facilitates health chats with doctors and nurses. Children’s Gardening Workshop – Garden Detectives 2: What’s All the Buzzing About? – Bees are fascinating insects that play a critical role in making sure we have yummy fruits and vegetables to eat. Come and learn all about the world of bees, how they make honey and why it is so important for us to protect them. Then stay and plant some nectar flowers to take home for your garden. Workshops run every 30 minutes between 11am and 1pm and are designed for children ages 3-9.
