Exploring Irvine with Pedego Electric Bikes

We went on a tour as a guest of the venue

Growing up in Newport Beach, bike riding was one of my favorite things to do on the weekends. Then I grew up, got married, and moved to South Orange County where biking riding is nearly impossible with a massive hill around every corner. I often miss the days of riding my bike to a restaurant for lunch or to the store to pick-up a couple of groceries. A couple of my friends had been posting pictures of their families going on bike rides and using their bike frame size chart every weekend around Orange County, and when I asked one of my friends how she stays in such great shape to tackle riding a bike up and down the South OC hills, she told me that they have been riding Pedego electric bikes.

I was curious to learn more about Pedego. I did a little research online and discovered that you can rent Pedego Electric Bikes at multiple locations around Orange County. I made reservations at the Irvine location because they offer group tours where they take families on epic adventures exploring parts of Irvine that many people never knew existed.

When we arrived at the Irvine Pedego location, my younger son immediately got very excited. He was running around the store checking out all the bikes, and had his helmet on within seconds, and was ready to go. The owner of the Irvine location was going to be our guide for the day, and is such a cool guy – our kids loved him.

He started out with finding everyone the perfect bike, made sure our seats were properly adjusted, and then gave us an instructional/safety briefing. We didn’t leave until everyone was completely comfortable with how to work the bikes and our helmets were secure on our heads.

Then the fun began. We rode the Pedego bikes all around Irvine. We went from seeing the city of Irvine to the beautiful nature that surrounds the community. Our family took a short break at Bommer Canyon where my son saw a little squirrel run across the trail, and it was a beautiful moment being outside and together with my family.

The Pedego electric bikes made it possible for us to see parts of Irvine that we have never seen before. The bikes were able to make it seamless going up hills, and I was still able to get some exercise while riding the bike. Bike riders can either go fully electric while riding the Pedego’s or just use the electric feature for some assistance. Most of the ride, I peddled and used a little bit of juice to help me along the bike path.

Our experience riding Pedego bikes around Orange County was one of our favorite family outdoor experiences. The owner who took us on our tour made it fun, knew the best places to stop and capture a photo of my kiddos, and he customized the tour to make it a day we would never forget.

Irvine is home to some of the best bike trails in Orange County, and taking your family out for a day riding a Pedego is something that every family should experience. The Irvine location has bikes available to rent anytime, and they offer group or private tours on select dates.
