Extreme Weight Loss Tips From JD Roth

I never had to worry about my weight until having children. The leftover goldfish on the highchair and creamy macaroni and cheese is too tempting to resist. When I went to Los Angeles earlier this month, I had a unique opportunity to talk with the Executive Producer of the ABC Television Network show “Extreme Weight Loss” JD Roth.

I’ve tried a million diets and nothing has ever seemed to work. I just lose the weight then gain it back (plus a couple extra pounds) until recently. I have found that eating small meals throughout the day instead of three big meals is the key to losing weight (and saying ‘no’ to bad food choices). I’ve also found that ditching the goldfish and macaroni and cheese, and feeding my kids healthier options is another key to the success of my weight loss journey. Finally, water..lots and lots of ..water. That is the exact recommendation that JD Roth gave me when I asked him what is the easiest way for moms to start seeing a difference in their weight loss journey.

It’s not about a diet – but a lifestyle change. I know..we have all heard it before, but it is the truth. We have to be good role models for our children by making healthy dining options so that they can grow-up to live healthy long lives. JD Roth grew-up with an entire family who was overweight. He had to overcome the challenges to make a huge lifestyle change to that he could live a healthy long life.

On the show, they are helping to change the lives of people. It is inspiring and motivational to watch people persevere and make a major lifestyle change to be healthy and fit – and we all know that it is not easy.

I think it is easy to get overwhelmed when trying to change everything at once. Pick one thing to change in your diet a day, and before you know it, you’ll be losing weight and living a healthier lifestyle.
