Fabletics Activewear Review

As many of you know, I’ve been working this past year on getting fit and my exercise of choice is running. Since I have six kids and have to stay on a budget, I am always on the lookout for a great deal on good quality activewear.

Fabletics is a new online retailer that was co-founded by Kate Hudson, I was excited to place my first order. When the clothes arrived, right away I was impressed with the quality of the product. All the seams are flat locked for strength and durability. The fabrics are soft and made with high quality fabrics.

The first outfit I ordered was “Support”. It includes reversible running sleeves, the “Wahoo” top, and “Suva” run short.

The running sleeves are wonderful! They come in a “one size” and I was a bit worried with my small arms that they’d be too loose. I have been looking for running sleeves for a while and had not yet found a pair that met my three criteria: price, fit, fashion. I had looked at arm sleeves that were $20 just for 1, not even a pair. They weren’t that cute either. Also, most of the sleeves I tried on were too big and would slide down. These arms sleeves meet all three of my requirements. They fit perfectly, and they have thumb-holes, so they keep your hands AND arms warm, they are super cute AND reversible, so I have black and; heather gray in one set, and they were part of a complete outfit that was only $49.95. (For those of you that don’t have super skinny arms – don’t fear, the fabric is super stretchy)

The Wahoo top is likewise fashionable and functional. It has a mesh panelling on the back for extra ventilation, and the fabric is moisture-release, so you stay dry during your workout. The fabric is buttery soft to the touch, and it has cute pockets on the sides where you could stow an energy gel for those long runs.

I ordered the Suva short in the camo print. I don’t think I have ever owned anything in camo before, but these shorts were so cute I had to give them a try. These shorts are a perfect complement to the Wahoo top (as they should since it’s a ready-made outfit). They have a draw-string waistband and a mesh liner – super important in a running short 😉

I also received the “Capable” outfit including the “Desio” top and “Lima” capri. The Desio top is an ultra-breathable long-sleeved top. It’s perfect for cool weather. The Lima capri is made of the softest fabric and offers maximum compression that helps with circulation. It also has a handy hidden pocket in the waistband.

Fabletics offers a unique approach to purchasing activewear. While you can purchase individual pieces, the site is set up with outfits. If you purchase one of their outfits you receive, a discounted price as opposed to purchasing the items separately. They also have a VIP program that works like a club membership. Joining the VIP program means even bigger discounts. Each month they send you an email with preselected outfits for you. You can shop from the outfits they send or any of the outfits on their website. The cost is typically $49.95 for a complete outfit. If you don’t want to purchase in a given month, you simply skip the month by the 10th. There is no set amount to buy, and you can cancel at any time. Also, if you spend $49.95 or more your shipping is FREE.

Right now Fabletics is offering a promotion for 50% your first outfit when you sign up for the VIP program. That’s only $25 for a complete outfit!
