Family Fitness Fun With PlayYourCourt

We attended a complimentary class

I’m not a natural athlete…believe it or not. Wasn’t too skilled at soccer, softball, or basketball like most of my friends growing up. I had longed to pick up a sport of some kind. Then one day during a high school P.E. class, I realized there was a sport I really enjoyed, and I was kind of good at: tennis.

Learning how to play tennis with Play Your Court

My relationship with the racquet and the little yellow ball continued to grow throughout my teen and adult life. Even my football-sized husband, and I started playing tennis together.

And then something happened…kids. The thought of bringing my delicate little baby in a giant stroller or sling to the court created overwhelming anxiety with visions of the ball smacking my little one in the forehead.

I gently stored our old racquets under the bed. Years passed. I watched tennis matches on television and would slowly drive by to watch folks playing at local courts.

I missed the game of tennis.

Fast forward 10 years and two kids later to a company called PlayYourCourt. Play Your Court allows you to pick your tennis pro based on your needs, and select a location that’s closest to you.

My family, and I had the opportunity to try the service with PlayYourCourt Tennis Professional Wyatt Russell.

My littlest practicing her forearm swing. I think she’s getting the hang of it!

Russell was eagerly waiting on a local court for us in million-degree weather, and even brought extra racquets, tennis balls and water. In the trial lesson, he covered the basics of tennis—from strokes, volleys, serves, positioning, drills, and footwork.

I’ll admit, it was exhilarating to get back into the game of tennis again, but it was more fun to introduce my two girls to a new sport, and to see their smiles when they hit the ball. Even my husband enjoyed getting a few pointers from the pro, and demonstrated he still hasn’t lost his mean serve.

At PlayYourCourt, each tennis pro is carefully screened, insured, competitively priced—and best of all—the lesson is fully guaranteed or your money back.

Even though tennis is not a big team sport like soccer or baseball, it is a perfect activity for family fun and fitness that can be played at virtually any local court in your neighborhood.

According to Russell, “Tennis is one of the few sports you can enjoy from youth all the way to late in life. People of all different skills can play, and have fun on the same court.”

So, rally with your family, and check out PlayYourCourt.
