Family Fun at Babychella

The sun was shining, and it was such a perfect day for a festival. My kids and I went to Babychella, which is a family art and music festival geared towards the five and under crowd, but enjoyed by all ages.

My four kids ages 12, 10, 4 and two months old all found something they enjoyed. My older two children liked watching the band School Of Rock, my 2-month-old liked all the colorful things hanging around, and my four-year-old loved all the hands-on activities plus the sing-alongs.

The event was held at the William R. Mason Regional Park in Irvine. Right in the middle of this big park was where all the fun took place.

When we first arrived we watched a band play; then we headed over to the food trucks. My Kids always seem to be starving when they see them. We choose pizza which was the wrong choice. It took an hour to get our pizza. While waiting for our pizza to be ready, we wandered around the festival.

My four year old colored some stuff and did a little art project, and we all listened to a band called The School Of Rock that featured children from ages eight to fourteen-years-old playing instruments and singing. The kids were talented for their age and they played some great songs.

In the middle of Babychella was a huge teepee. Kids and adults could go inside. My little guy loved this, and it was hard to get him to want to come out. I got him out by telling him there was a bubble tent for us to go play in.

After learning that he was eager to run out and find it. Along the way, we saw many vendors with adorable boho baby and kid clothing and other goods. The Honest Company was even there with their juices and teas. They were giving out free samples which were really nice on this extremely hot day. My kids got to try a new flavor to them; it was cherry and really good.

After our thirst had been quenched, we made it to the bubble tent. My little guy ran in and had a blast popping bubbles with all the other little kids. In this tent, they were also playing The Boss Baby movie. When we were done playing bubbles, we walked around some more. The little Gym was also there with some fun gymnastic activities for the smaller kids to try out. My son loved this.

Before we went to go pick up our pizza from the food truck, we made a special visit to the Crown Bloom Co. tent. They are a company who specializes in fresh flower crowns, they are fans of the OC Mom Blog and gave me a lovely flower crown to wear. I noticed many women and girls wearing their beautiful creations while we walked around too.

By this time my starving kids were even more hungry, so we picked up our pizza and headed towards a beautiful shade tree where sat on the grass and enjoyed our meal.

The fest was coming to an end, so we packed up and headed back to our car. All along the paths were areas of beautiful nature. Along with beautiful nature, we saw turtles getting some sun on the rocks in the pond; we saw many ducks; we watched the fountain in the middle of the pond, and my kids climbed on rocks and enjoyed running around the trees. We even stopped at a little playground, so my kids could get out the last of their energy before getting in the car. This park was really nice, and now that I know how nice it is, we will be returning for a picnic another day.

Babychella could not have been better. My kids and I enjoyed it very much, and we will be back next time they hold it. I was told it might be next year at this same location, or they may have it in different areas, so keep a look out for it.
