Father and Son Night Out at Knott’s Scary Farm
We visited as a guest of Knott’s
Now that my oldest son Andrew is in high school, I felt like he was at a good age to bring to Knott’s Scary Farm for the first time. I have so many memorable memories from going to Knott’s Scary Farm as a teenager, and I couldn’t wait for my son’s first memory to be with me.
We arrived at Knott’s Berry Farm about half an hour early and waited by the entrance to Camp Snoopy where we watched the Ghosts and Goblins awake from their year’s rest. Multiple scary creatures and zombies paraded around in front of us, giving us a sneak peek of what we were going to be in store for that night.
When the ropes were taken down, and we were allowed to enter Knott’s Scary Farm the fog began to get thicker and thicker. We had people jumping out in front of us who were screaming and shrieking loudly. We went to the new stage area and watched “The Hanging.” It was very entertaining and had lots of funny parts acted out by the Knott’s Scary Farm staff.
When we finished watching the hanging, it was time to see Elvira Mistress of the Dark in her nightly showing of “Elvira’s Danse Macabre.” It was very entertaining, and Andrew was amazed that Elvira has been entertaining since before I was old enough to go to Knott’s Scary Farm.
Then is was time for the mazes. We went to all of the mazes where Andrew got to see how this annual event earned its name – we were both scared out of our minds. We also went to the various Skeleton Rooms where they really turned up the Frights. It was a frightful evening that we will never forget.
I had a good time reliving some of my youth through Andrew. It’s rare that an event can be so well performed and continue to improve every year. The staff at Knott’s make each year more and more exciting, and it is well worth it to attend.
I am hopeful Andrew will want to visit Knott’s Scary Farm with me every year, but I am sure that next year I’ll be dropping him off with a group of friends.
If you have a teenage boy, then get tickets to bring him to Knott’s Scary Farm with you. You’ll have a fun evening bonding together, and creating memories that your son will remember forever. Tickets are available for Knott’s Scary Farm online.
