We dined as a guest
It should be a known fact that the Irvine Company has this fantastic ability to finding the perfect additions to their restaurant family. I do not know how they do it, but they once again hit gold by bringing Fogo de Chão to the Irvine Spectrum.
It is huge for Orange County. For those who are not familiar with Fogo, de Chão, let me give you a little history. Internationally renowned Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which utilizing the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique.
It all started in 1979 on the mountainous countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, in Southern Brazilian, on a farm, in the Serra Gaucha, that the founding brothers decided to share their culinary treasure with the world.
Tradition, family, and love of churrasco (grilling meat) are the founder’s recipe for success and man we are reaping the benefits of their passion.
The name Fogo de Chão means “ground fire” and summarizes the traditional gaúcho method of roasting meats over an open fire. As you dine, the roving gaucho waiters serve barbecued meats from large skewers directly onto the seated diners’ plates.
The full-service Brazilian steakhouse also offers an incredible salad bar known as the Carrara Market Table, which includes some of the most delicious vegetable options as well as an assortment of meats, fine cheeses, soups, salads and so much more. I seriously made a plate for myself and called it the rainbow of vegetables, my favorite being the most flavorful teardrop-shaped pepper.
The restaurant prides itself on accommodating to those with dietary needs, be sure to speak to the management team ahead of time so that they can arrange accordingly.
For those with children six and under, they eat for free, and children 7-12 are half off the experience. On top of dinner, Fogo de Chão also serves during lunch and has a lovely weekend brunch. The Irvine location also features a contemporary bar with lounge seating for those who would like to take al fresco dining and cocktail sipping part.
The meal experience at Fogo de Chão is not only unique but also delicious. As you, so the gaúcho’s traveling from tableside, you realize that Fogo de Chão stays true to its roots and creates an experience like no other.
