Four Fresh Summer Snack Ideas

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Rubbermaid®

The weather has warmed up, and summer has finally arrived. Parents will be putting the backpacks away for the season and replacing it with a beach bag to spend summer days down at the beach. The biggest struggle that all parents have is with finding fresh new summer snacks to pack in the beach bag.

The most important thing when packing summertime snacks is to use containers that are 100% leak-proof! We have all been there when we pack a snack in a cheap plastic food container, just to get to the beach to have our bag covered in food. The one product that I have found to keep my kid’s snacks airtight and leak-proof is the Rubbermaid BRILLIANCE containers. They have innovative latches that keep my kid’s snacks exactly where I want them when on the go – in the containers. As a bonus, the Rubbermaid BRILLIANCE plays a big part in helping to keep my kitchen organized by perfectly stacking when stored in my cabinets or the refrigerator.

What are my go-to summertime snacks?

Fresh fruit. It not only provides the kids with hydration but also nutrition. The natural sugars help to give the kids the energy they need for a full day of play in the summer heat. One of my kid’s favorites is strawberries mixed with blueberries. It is fresh, seasonal, and makes for a tasty summertime treat.

Dried fruit. One of the benefits of packing dried fruit in your summer activity bag is that you don’t have to worry about it getting hot or soggy. You can easily make your own dried fruit with a dehydrator or purchase them at your local market.

Nuts. While my older son can’t eat nuts, his allergy still allows him to be near nuts so that my other children can have the nutritional benefits. Instead of just packing one type of nut, I like to pack a mixture of nuts and add a little dried fruit or chocolate morsel for a special treat.

Vegetables. The best summertime snack you can possible pack your children are vegetables. Fresh and organic vegetables fuel Their little bodies. Some of my kid’s favorites are sugar peas, edamame, and carrots. Add a little dip to your container if you have kids who seem hesitant with eating fresh veggies.

Get your Rubbermaid BRILLIANCE containers today, and get ready to start packing delicious summer snacks for your kids this year. It is guaranteed to be an unforgettable summer!
