Fullerton Arboretum Arts in the Garden Party
Do your children love being outside? Do they love spending time in the garden? Then they are going to love this special Fullerton Arboretum Arts in the Garden Party on May 5th from 1pm to 3:35pm. Kids will explore their imagination and creativity while discovering the world of nature, science and ecology.
The event is perfect for children ages 5 to 12 years of age. The cost is $5 per child, and adults are complimentary. There is a nice variety of classes available during the event that require pre-registration by calling 657-278-3407. The classes are:
Movement Exploration with Momentum Dance Center. Children will get rocking and rolling at this fun class.
Ojos de Dios Folk Art. Children will learn the origin of this interesting form of folk art and then use natural materials to create their own.
Stone Critters Rock Art. Children will paint a rock and make it come alive!
Leaf Art Critter Collage. Select a variety of leaves and assemble them into a collage to create a colorful animal portrait.
Story Time Puppets and Puppet Making. Hear animal sounds from the Native American traditions and other cultures around the world. Then children will make a puppet to take home with them.
Writing Haiku Nature Poetry. Draw inspiration from nature and focus on developing vivid descriptions to practice Japanese poetry form.
Painting with Nature’s Textures. Explore the physical properties in art by using natural items like sticks, leaves and rocks as artistic painting tools.
The Fullerton arboretum is located at 1900 Associated Road in Fullerton.
