Gardening Classes in Orange County


Everyone is always asking me how to start a backyard garden? I self-taught myself how to grow fruits and vegetables for my family in our backyard garden, but now families can learn at free gardening classes in Orange County, at The OC Fair & Events Center’s Centennial Farms.

The monthly Saturday classes are open to those inspired to start gardening over the age of 16 years. Class attendees will learn tips and techniques for growing beautiful backyard gardens from the gardening specialists at Centennial Farms.

The classes are limited on space, and online registration is required. To register, go online, and click on “Garden Classes” in the sidebar.

Each class is on a Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-Noon

• Sept. 7: Dahlias Above and Below the Ground
• Sept. 14: A Garden of the Future
• Oct. 5: Grow it NOW: Cool Season Vegetables
• Nov. 2: Urban Chickens Demystified
• Dec. 7: Make It, Take It, Christmas Wreath ($30 materials fee applies. Online pre-registration is required for this class.)


The OC Fair & Event Center is located off the 405 and 55 freeways at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa.

  1. I was wondering when are having gardening classes again. Please contact me for any classes in regards vegetable or fruit tree gardening.
