Garlic Knots
There is a pizza place in Aliso Viejo that has the best garlic knots. It’s called Porky’s Pizza. I love these little knots so much that sometimes I will order them to take with me to potlucks. I have always wanted to try to make my own garlic Knots so the other day I went out to trader Joe’s and picked up some of their pre-made Pizza dough and a few ingredients for the garlic sauce.
To begin, roll out the pizza dough to 1/3 inch thick on lightly floured surface such as your kitchen counter or a large wooden board. Cut into strips about 1×4 inches.
Tie each strip in a knot and place on a baking sheet. The dough stretches so the strips do not have to be super long. Bake the knots until they start to brown, about 10-15 minutes depending on the size of the knots.
While the dough is baking, melt the butter in a small pot and cook the garlic gently in it just long enough to take off that raw garlic edge, about 1-2 minutes over medium-low heat. Add the salt and parsley and stir to combine. (I also added a little Parmesan). Turn off the heat.
When the knots come out of the oven, put them into a bowl. Pour or baste (if you don’t want them too soggy) the garlic mixture over the knots and toss
