When we think about California, most of us instantly think about Los Angeles and Hollywood, or at a push, San Francisco and Silicon Valley. However, there are so many amazing places that you can visit in this wonderful state, and one of these is the amazing city of San Diego, just north of the Mexican border. Within this gorgeous city, you’ll find an array of exciting activities and things to see and be able to try some great food and drink at the many restaurants and bars dotted around the place. The city is made up of a number of districts that all offer something different from one another, such as La Jolla, North Park, Ocean Beach, and Old Town. Taking a stroll through the vibrant streets of the Gaslamp Quarter will fill you with wonder and excitement. The streets are lined with many different stores, such as amazing boutiques alongside many well-known outlets too. During your shopping spree, you’ll also come across many quaint coffee shops where you can grab a bite to eat and a bit of shade away from the hot Californian sunshine. As well as great shopping, you’ll be able to find some delicious foods around the city. As well as the house, you’ll find Horton Plaza Park, which can be enjoyed throughout the day.

Everyone has a different idea of a fun night out, and luckily, the Gaslamp Quarter has something for everybody. You could enjoy a relaxed yet sociable evening at a chilled-out rooftop bar such as Altitude Sky Lounge or Solamar, or if you’re not too keen on heights, check out something at ground level where you can find a selection of awesome independent bars that light up the city streets at night. Gaslamp is also home to some fun entertainment too, with live music shows and comedy gigs taking place throughout each night. You can find some fantastic shows at venues such as Tin Roof, the Prohibition Lounge, and Music Box, to name a few. What better way to enjoy your vacation evenings than with dinner and a show?
