Go Behind the Scenes of Mary Poppins at The El Capitan Theatre


The historic El Capitan Theatre is kicking of 2014 with a Disney Sing-a-long of “Mary Poppins.” Guests will have a rare opportunity to sing-a-long with Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, and David Tomlinson before seeing the feature film. Guests will get a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of the making of “Mary Poppins” with the “Mary Poppins” photography display from the Walt Disney Archives. After getting an in-depth look into the film at the display, guests will enjoy the sing-a-long and feature film inside of the historic theatre.

The event will kick-off on January 10th for opening night with a costume contest and special surprises. The film will continue to play at the theatre until January 20, 2014.

Tiny Tot Tuesday
Guests with younger children can come to see the “Mary Poppins” sing-a-long at the El Capitan Theatre during Tiny Tot Tuesday. On January 14th at 10am, smaller guests can experience the film with reduced sounds and dimmed lights.

Daily Showtimes
They will have daily showtimes of “Mary Poppins” Sing-a-long at 10am, 1:15pm, 4:30pm, and 7:45pm. There is a special general admission ticket price of $10 that includes popcorn. VIP tickets are $20, and includes a reserved seat, popcorn and drink.

“Mary Poppins” was just released out of the Disney vault on blu-ray for the first time in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. Tickets to the El Captian Theatre event can be purchased at the box office, online at or by calling 1-800-Disney6.
