Gorjana Necklace Benefiting Illumination Foundation (Giveaway)

The holidays are a time for giving back, and helping others. Gorjana Jewelry is helping holiday shoppers to give back to a great foundation, and surprise someone in their life with a beautiful piece of jewelry. 80% of all proceeds from the purchase of the Gorjana Flame Necklace will go directly to the Orange County non-profit, the Illumination Foundation.

The Illumination Foundation is helping to break the cycle of homelessness in Orange County by providing stable housing, medical services, mental health counseling, case management, and food and clothing. I never realized how many people in Orange County are currently homeless, until volunteering my time at the Orange County Rescue Mission. The stories of the people touched my heart in a way that I never knew possible, making it my mission to help support foundations that care for the homeless in our community.

Homeless facts:

1 in 6 children live in poverty
1 in 20 children are unstably housed – the highest percentage in California
28,000 public school students live in unstable homes
Half of all adults below the poverty line are employeed
An individual earning minimum wage has to work 128 hours/week to afford a one-bedroom apartment

How can you help? Purchase one of the beautiful Gorjana 18k gold plated Flame Necklaces, and 80% of the proceeds will go to helping the homeless in Orange County. Gorjana generously offered a necklace for us to giveaway to one OC Mom Blog family. Enter to win in the form below:
